What SIM rooter/modem do you buy in 2026 to escape LTE Category 4 hell?

Unreal how phones can do cat 15 and up with 130 Mbps download yet most retailers here sell cat 4 slop modems/routers like its still 2015, same with ethernet cables. You're lucky to get 30-35 mbps down on that.

I just use a pocket 5G router connected to a OpenWRT router doing ethernet over USB, with external antenna outside.
There's better solutions, but this was literally like 100 eur and enough as a second / backup connection.

how?

i mean i've used dial up over cellular once before. it has got to be both the slowest and most expensive way to have ever gotten on the internet that wasn't something from the 1980s

5G modules are expensive + it's technically an entire pc.

So the AI black hole is going to make the routers more expensive now too?

To an extent, some newer high end routers use DDR4, older/low end stuff shouldn't be affected.

The Cudy P5 is the only new router worth buying according to YouTube
