I know I should keep saving for a 5090 but I want a new GPU now.My 1080TI has done outstanding work but it's time to rest.
>>108942322fifty seventy/fifty seventy tie
>check out asrock mobo situation>its still eating x3d chipsThe fuck.
>>108942336RiP AssRock, this will haunt them for decades.
>>108942322Just save $6090 for a 6090 launch.
>>108942368Is that not happening until 2028?
>>108942374With nV you never know if it will happen at all.
>>108942322Not worth
>>108942300The 5070 is a good entry 4K card5070 + OLED is better than 5070 Ti + IPS
Been getting random reboots in games but not in stress tests. Is there even any reliable way to diagnose "unexpected power loss" without swapping hardware one by one?
>>108942403You are using Winblows I assume.Check Event Viewer first.Have you tried running both CPU and GPU stress tests at the same time?
>>108942403Checked windows syslog already? Sometime its due to some gpu driver latency issue.
>>108942451>>108942468>event viewerNothing there before reboot, no driver errors or whea etc, only "The previous system shutdown was unexpected."OCCT power test runs fine.
>>108942533So you only get Kernel power 41 error? Are you sure you aren't simply slow cooking your RAM until it simply gives up?Did this whole problem started when it got warm?
>>108942566First reboot was 2 weeks ago, then one week later, and today.CPU and MB temps seem fine in OCCT, but I guess I should game with hwinfo logging on from now on.>when it got warmNo such thing with AC set to maintain constant temp year-round. But also the weather outside has been colder than normal this past month.
I don't feel like building a pc at all in the near future. All I do on my laptop is office, shitposting and emulating old shit.
>>108942403>turn xmp/expo off>overvolt your cpu/gpu/ram do it one at a time until the crashes stopalso,>check for voltage droops (+/-5% of 12v/5v/3.3v) or thermal throttling while gaming
>>108942630It was kind of trendy when things were cheap, but people are making due with less. Also, the old games are more entertaining than the new slop.
>>108942607Alright, so it's not so easy for you to reproduce the problem. What kind of platform are you using?Any OC?
>>108942403>>108942533Is it just one particular game? Did you verify the files?
Had this problem like once every two months where my PC would take way longer to boot than usual and I could hear fans going loud. However it always booted after a couple minutes.Well, not today so I did a CMOS reset and now I'm back in.>Windows 11>Ryzen 7 9800X3D>RTX 5080>64gb DDR5 Fury Beast RAM>TUF Gaming B850 Plus WifiThe DRAM LED was yellow, so there was some problem with my RAM I suppose. Now, I have no clue about any of this I just tried to troubleshoot with ChatGPT and it told me there may have been some issue with the RAM speed setting of 6000 MT/s I had and updating my BIOS could make it more stable. I'm on 4800 MT/s after the reset now and right now my PC is working again.Current BIOS version is 1028 from 2025/04/30.I don't know guys, you think I should update or is this something completely unrelated
>asrock>assrock>asscock
>He skipped over Intel because of degradation or "cuck-cores">His 9800X3D literally burns up after a month
>>108942726Sounds like DDR5 training, it can take up to couple minutes or even multiple reboots. More RAM you have the longer it will take, enabling XMP/EXPO will make it even longer. Check the UEFI and try finding Memory Context Restore this makes your PC skip whole memory training but this expires at some point.
>>108942677Different games, but now that I think about it every time I was running more than one game at once. Basically every time it happened when I was playing some SP game and got invited to another MP game and the reboot happened within 30 minutes after launching the second game. But I do that almost every day and it usually works fine.>>1089426595800X3D, no OC but all cores at -30 , been that way since the day I bought it with no issues. Already reset it to stock.9070XT, all stock settings. Might try power limiting it to -30% next.>>108942636>xmpWorth a try if a problem persists.>voltage dropsHope hwinfo logs won't get corrupted/flushed if it happens again.PSU is a likely culprit since it is very old, but also very overbuilt with 12 year warranty so idk.
>>108942809and they will continue to blame literally everyone except AMD
>>108942300People convinced me here to get the XFX Mercury but it seems the only way to turn off the RGBslop is to unplug one of the molexes underneath the shroud, has anyone done this?
>>108942995Plug on the argb cable and control it with ASRock poly or your motherboard rgb bios tiol
>>108942995It's not software addressible? Have you tried using openrgb to turn it off?
>>108943061I haven't bought it yet. I just looked at OpenRGB's list of devices and it wasn't listed.
>>108943061>>108943069It has argb headers like everything else. You plug into Mobo and control it through Mobo or OS.
