What's the future for Linux?

>>108946435>What's the future for Linux?grim, like the future of everything else
>>108946435GNU replaced with a rust rewrite by AI, under the MIT license so BlackRock and buy GNU-rs and turn it into a SaaS. The Kernel will keep development (also having most of its components slowly replaced by rust in AI), freetards will migrate to Alpine to escape globoschlomo, but Linux will keep adjusting only to the BlackRock GNU-rs userspace and eventually that's all Linux is gonna be
>>108948126You cannot relicense MIT code i am pretty sureHell, android itself is based on gpl linux copyright but i dont think anyone would consider it free software. Not to mention ai made licenses themsleves obsolete.

>>108946435With so many hosts leaving, it's probs gonna get deprecated by similar channels, like Jayz2cents/Austin Evans, within a few years of Linus stepping down

>>108946435It's already over.Just the other day the rsync dev was caught releasing completely broken updates because he decided to vibecode new things. The ecosystem on which everything depends on in loonix land is about to be aijeeted at a rate never seen before. That's despite the fact it was already fucked up from pootering ware and redhat/ibm/microsoft/novell shittery.
>>108949542that just means that rsync will get forked and the slop version will be forgotten
While clearly better than Windows or Mac, I think it's time for a Linux replacement, incorporating what has been learned from OS design over the past decades. New languages are trying to fill C's niche, and that's the perfect way to put these languages to the real test.
>>108946435>future>loonixlmao
>>108946435Outlawed. Once politicians realize they can't make Linux comply with their age verification crap, next will be legal requirements for locked down BIOS that only boots "approved" operating systems. Hypervisors on non-server hardware will also be blocked.
