ive been using corsair af120/sp120 fans for more than a decade now. i dont think they even sell them anymore.

Well you only have to buy them once every 5-10 years instead of once every 1-2 years, so it makes sense they have to make them more expensive. It's like those Dubai special LED lamps which last 5x longer but they are not allowed to be sold outside the country.

Yeah, I stopped buying fans other than noctua after all my cheap fans started whining, noctua fans do get louder over time but it's a much less grating noise, more like a whoosh than a whine

There is no equivalent fan, every fan that gets shilled as a replacement for cheaper is either just worse, or doesn't have sufficient history to prove that it's not worse over time
Coolers perhaps, some other brands make nice enough coolers and they don't have any moving parts so they don't wear out, I can see the argument there, but idk my ten year old D15 is still just fine, I haven't been in the market for a new cooler since I bought it, and because noctua sends me new brackets when I ask for them, I'm unlikely to ever be in the market for one ever again

Noctua fans are just overrated and overpriced. There are plenty of options out there that perform nearly as well on the market for 1/2 the MSRP. It is worse on the heatsink front where they are a vast selection of options that offer nearly identical performance for a fraction of the cost.
