>Amazon is building an $11 billion AI data campus in Indiana.>It’ll use as much electricity as roughly 1 MILLION homes.>And about 300 million gallons of water every yearIs this normal to you?
maybe they can do shutdown -h now if homes are about to get left without electricity
Why has energy efficiency and sustainability suddenly become an afterthought to these companies?
>>108951151>suddenly
>>108951151because that only matters when funding is finite
>>108951016Good. Americans dont need water, they have Brawndo's and it has electrolytes
>>108951016Well, some parts of Indiana have a lot of water. Like much much more than that.
>>108951016You won't do shit.
>>108951016Maybe not, but change is always abnormal at first.
>>108951151They never cared about any of it. They only "cared" enough to scam you out of your money and your rights.
>>108951212300 million gallons is about 2 hours flow of a large river
>>108951202I wonder if the electrolytes come from re-cycled human urine?
>>108951016Based as fuck. AiGODS won
>>108951016It's their solution for the braincide that apple did.
>>108951016Not my problem
It's fine because in the future, you won't own a house anyway and water will be rationed to you by Palantir x Watercorp via MyID powered by Amazon Data CampusBecause water is a precious resource and there is currently a war going on to obtain itDon't you care about the environment? You don't need more, studies show this.
>>108951016>AI data campus in IndianaFinally as name implies Indiana will rightfully belong to Indians.
>>108951202yeah who cares about trannymerica, their empire is collapsing anyways
>>108951016The people of Indiana need to band together, and fight back. It's not easy, but it can be done.
>>108951151No their problem. The question is, why do they keep getting permits? (It is because all politicians are corrupt)
>>108951016If you don't want this, then you're a domestic terrorist working for the Chinese.
>>108951803I don't care about the environment. Any other arguments?
Can someone convince me they actually care about this and aren't just pearl clutching? When has anyone cared about what goes on in Indiana?
>>1089510161200 acre * 40 inches of rainfall annually = 1.3 billion gallons of water. so it's only using like a quarter of the water it falls on it
>>108952873and corn requires 20-30 inches, so 50-75% of indiana's average
>>108952037I seriously can't imagine why they would use this argument when we've built more than chinks.
>>10895180310 CNY has been deposited to your account
>>108951016Yes it is normal for a new economic sector to require resources, and no those numbers aren't crazy. No it's not normal for a functional country to be incapable of scaling infrastructure to meet that need. This is what happens when you undermine every facet of your political and economic systems and figure it must be fine as long as it doesn't fall over on its own. Then some shock or need to adapt comes along and you have no reserve capacity to do literally anything in the tank, and it's suddenly the unforeseeable end of days and how could it happen to good, moral people like us who don't deserve it?The fact that we can't tank a demand spike of that size without even noticing is proof that we are a nation of retarded childen.
>>108951151What if cheyna wins the AI race? btw cheyna just copies the west and deepseek was trained on chatgpt output
>>108951151Once a company can stop caring about costs to a certain extent, they also stop caring about most other barriers. Modern FAGMANN are a great case-study for why companies past a certain size need to become broken up and nationalized.
>data campusanything but calling a spade a spade
>>108954283>new economic sector>a fucking matrix calculatorkek
>>108951016Wow, 300 million gallons>The state of Indiana uses approximately 71 billion gallons of water on agriculture in an average yearAh.
>>108951151>suddenlyThey never cared and still don't, never will either. Dumbass.
Call me retarded but I find ai boom inspiring, humanity found a new technology and throwing all resources at it, every 3 months theres a small breakthrough
>>108951016>use up water???are they doing hydrolysis or waht
>>108954554*electrolysis
>>108951016Well, it's time for you to read some real literature to understand that humans are neither “rational”, nor “economic agents”. They participate in anything as long as they believe in it. AI bubble relies first and foremost on pop cultural images of robots serving humans (or killing them, no difference, must just be memorable). People were ready to dream in that fashion, and they constructed another modern day idol for themselves (as it's really hard to live without one).Where's a big mess, there is an opportunity to profit from it. People know perfectly well they invest in mountains of bullshit, but they CAN NOT not do it if the rules of the market tell them to make money this way. When every street stand sells fidget spinners, you sell them, too, and gamble on not stocking too little or too much before the hype dissipates. When everyone worships the golden calf, you worship it too. The “capitalism” is just that: the effect of believing in relative importance of “making money” over everything else, and doing evil to everyone else for that reason.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRuGNal1ie0Just as regular satisfied citizens of Nazi Germany, just as regular unrelenting communist workers who zealously organised Soviet purges (until their colleagues succeeded in denouncing them first), just as regular corporate lizardmen of US social spying industry, they will soon say that they were “misled”, that they “did not know”, that they “did what everyone did” (which is a lie, it's never “everyone”).
>>108951151they are printing money via stocks their funds are unlimited. Also the local government cuts them deals the bigger their facility is if you become the main consumer in the grid you dont have to pay taxes.
>>108952873lmao
Dear faggots,As someone that actually lives here (Indianapolis), we are upset because...>Faggots say they had plenty of water and won't fuck with Eagle Creek, now they want to fuck with Eagle Creek because "not enough water">They are building them in retarded places like next to residential neighborhoods (like right fucking next to them)>Turns out this has been planned for at least a year, and it's coming out that Google/Amazon/Lilly worked out HUGE reductions in utility rates before construction was ever even announced >AES and Citizens are already begging the state to raise utility rates ahead of them building out facilities that use more power on their own than the entirety of Marion County >There are no plans that I am aware of to build out new natural gas (or nuclear) facilities to provide additional load capacity I fuck a woman who attends these meetings for the county. Martinsville is next, so pepper your anus. 1200 acre facility coming to fuck your water table SOON. They apparently forgot to NDA the guy that did the title search, so the news will catch on soon enough. Fun fact, penises can be used to bypass NDAs.
>>108951151Why do you think they wanted you to save all that energy for?
>>108955159Also, the state government is all in on this. Indiana is one of the few places that makes sense for this shit because we have shitloads of water (for now) and there is a lot of boomer farmland that's going up for sale because farming is literally the worst way ever to make money. The kids don't want to fuck with farming (unless it's a successful operation which is rarer than you think), so they look to cash in on developer money for subdivisions or datacenters. This is especially prevalent in the "donut counties" around Indianapolis outside of 465. The water issue is the big one because everyone is rightfully concerned that if you have a single giant building using pulling more water out of the ground than the entire county, you have a fucking problem. Just the buildout of my rural area has fucked the water table. Too many wells nows, so I am going to have to play 20-30k eventually to get hooked up to municipal water. Imagine what it's like when you have a fucking datacenter sharing your water table.
>>108951016>Ameritroons will suffer from their jewish datacenters while I promptmaxxx from the other side of the world and burn as much of their stolen resources as possible.Uhhh W jews?
>>108951016yes, it's normalgolfing the uses uses 1.5 billion gallons of water per day, that's enough for 1825 such campuses. growing corn for ethanol production uses 25 billion gallons per DAY, enough for another 250000 such campuses, if only the governement stopped subsidising agr. ignoring the fact that your 300 milllion figure is inaccurate :D go live inna cave luddite if you think any new industry is bad.https://journals.ashs.org/view/journals/horttech/35/5/article-p848.xml
I never understood how these facilities water, Isn't it just for cooling? Wouldn't it be super easy to just filter it or whatever and throw it back to the same pipes
>>108955217Because it's impractical to cool water down once you heat it up, you have to use what's called latent heat of evaporation to cool it down, ever heard of a swamp cooler? Same concept. When you evaporate a lot of water though, the impurities remain in it since impurities don't evaporate like water does. So when you evaporate enough of it, even water that was mostly clean before, becomes saltier than the ocean and millions of times more toxic.
>>108955159>worked out HUGE reductions in utility rates before construction was ever even announcedthey do this shit it all countries by bribing local officials
>>108955266For sure. It's not so much the bribes as for far in advance the utility companies and tech fags conspired to fuck everyone. AES was whining about rate increases from the state in 2024 before any of this shit had been announced, now everyone knows why. There has been talk of coupling some of newer planned ones with SMRs, but that seems like years away because all the DoE SMR candidates just finished trials at INL last year.
>>108955217>>108955262and keep in mind that the 300 million gallons of water already ASSUMES that they are recycling it millions of times already until nothing is left but toxic waste. If they didn't do that then they would need millions of times more water than that to the point that such water doesnt even exist to be used for such a purpose.
>>108955262>>108955303I see, that makes sense. Still, it seems absurd that there is no way around it.
i'd think it's worth it if it does the job of 1 million people. i have no say in whether it's good or not. i assume there is some kind of reason behind it. it might improve my life.
>>108955210fuck golf and drank. both stupid dumb shit
>>108955329there is, nuclear energy and desalinating seawater, like they do in the middle east. only a completely morally bankrupt and suicidal society would use municipally funded fresh drinking water as cooling fluid for industrial systems at this scale
>>108955356desalinating seawater can produce drinking water
>>108955389Not in fucking Indiana it can't.
>>108955356>Just suck it out of a protected water reserve, bro>It's just Eagle Creek, bro>You don't need water, bro>Brawndo has what plants crave, bro
Notice how absolutely none of these planned datacenters are anywhere remotely close to>Carmel>Fishers>ZionsvilleI guess the LEAP bullshit could maybe be considered close to Zionsville, but only because it's in the same county. These retards are going to attempt to stick on on the east side of Indy, forgetting about the battalions of hobos who have probably already started scheming on how to get all that sweet, sweet copper and aluminum.
>>108955356What about a huge underground pipe serpentine that would cool the water dissipating the heat through the ground without evaporating it and thus preserving its initial properties?
>>108955424Square-Cube Law says no.
>>108951016Americans deserve it for being goys, they want this.
