It defeats apple by the virtue of not being tied to the apple OS

hello jensen
you're a loser and a car
>>
It's a Gamechanger
>>

can't compete with apple.
>>
>>108953988
Instead it's tied to Whindus, which is 11 times worse.

In Jensen's eyes they lost

Based apple mogs nvidia. They now that DIY local AI has to be cheap otherwise it makes no sense to not use cloud stuff, so they ditch it. Nvidia will flop on this one for price/power reasons. Its basically cucked chip that's moged by any desktop PC at the same time not good enough to be significantly better what apple or other vendors produce.
>>
>>108953987
Where's he gonna try and sell these now that there's no RAM for anyone but datacenters?
>>
>>108953987
The biggest thing stopping them from competing with Apple is Microsoft.
>>
>>108953987
It will use a MediaTek CPU, and their own GPU. It won't be anywhere near as good as Apple's CPUs, I count on the GPU being better though
>>

It's part of the DGX line and the DGX Spark has linux installed on it.
>>
>>108953987
>will it be able to compete with an irrelevant trash laptop
Apple is no competition. Only faggots and women own Apple laptops.
>>
>>108953987
it cant be another snapdragon nvidia actually delivers on software support. If the price is low enough then yes it will compete with apple most people buy the mac mini and co. because its so much cheaper than the spark or amd alternative and works oob with no issues.

This man is a literal fucking God.... He provides the substrate for life itself, creating sentience in his own image, it's fucking insane what people get up to these days and just 10 years ago it was literally impossible for one person to change the course of mankind like this for just a single person...

The infrastructure is there, most of the emulation fails are due to deliberate blocking of ARM cpus instead of flaws in the emulator itself. And most normie apps have ARM ports now. x86 is a legacy architecture now for deliberately unportable apps and with Apple forcing ARM they either port or miss out on Apple's premium market share segment. Once Nvidia makes ARM gaming PCs and publicly calls out incompatible apps as baby ducks it's over for x86.
>>
>>108953988
A good UNIX OS is like half the reason people buy Macs.
>>
>>108953987
>compete
Apple is a dead company now.
>>
>>108953987
It's a DGX Spark, but in a laptop, and with (they hope) better Windows support.
That means it has a great chip, but a powerful one that otherwise could have gone into a $4000 DGX Spark. As a laptop, it is guaranteed to not be priced as a primary laptop for most people. It might be good for gaming (might even be great!), but not priced competitively with "gaming" laptops. I would wait for reviews, but assuming Windows has stopped shitting the bed in ARM terms, it might be a good luxury "gaming laptop", even if it is meant as a mobile AI workhorse.

But beyond local AI in a laptop, or wealthy gamers, it doesn't address most of the market. It definitely won't be priced competitively for non-gaming, business and/or casual professional users. There is no SKU that is positioned for the "Macbook Air" range.

I am NOT saying it is bad! I simply mean that this generation isn't focused on "competing with Apple" in most ways. If this generation is successful enough, maybe the next generation will have some mid-tier SKUs that cover more market segments. THAT is what is required to actually "compete with Apple".
>>
>>108953987
shit product. you're better off buying a 3090.
>>
>>108953987
if there is no linux support, it's another snapdragon

Thanks chatGPT.

Apple will mog them in CPU IPC and power efficiency
>>
>>108953987
It blows the fuck out of everything portable, even their desktop workstations fucks everything.
>>
>>108954642
>Only faggots and women own Apple
that is 90% of the market
>>
>>108953987
for some reason people don't realize the current newest snapdragon chips are already smoking apple's m series, both in performance and massively in battery life
their main issue was coming out too soon before developer adoption, people still think barely anything works on them
guess we need tech jewtubers to cover them

If you guys didn't know, this is Nvidia's half assed answer to AMDs Ryzen AI Max
>>
>>108953987
I'm happy with my Snapdragon, but why the fuck are they marketing it for local AI processing? Literally name one fucking piece of software that exists for that purpose. Photoshop's generative AI doesn't run locally. Literally none of the Copilot Plus shit runs locally except Recall which doesn't exist. All the hobbyist shit like OpenWebUI, A111, ComfyUI is used by people who aren't retarded enough to try running local AI gen off a fucking laptop battery with the no RAM that those laptops will have.

>32 gigs of vram vs 128
I dunno man
>>
>>108956535
>>108956536
Oh they have 128GB? That actually sounds usable for some of the models I want to run. Pricetag for that won't be sensical though. I could build a desktop with a 50xx and offload to DDR5 for less than the price they'd charge to put 128GB in an SOC.
>>
can someone tl;dr this. am i going to be able to buy one of these and use it as a general purpose CPU in one of my own machines or is it just more B2B ai bullshit so they can charge consumers more
>>
For once a gamer device which is not VRAM limited
>>
>>108956616
They also want to sell an RTX spark desktop
>>
>>108953987

Probably not but it’s already joever for Framework laptops. Let’s laugh at them.
>>
>>108953988
apple being able to tie their hardware and software together is why they're good
>>
>>108956632
you can buy a laptop or mini pc with the chip in it I doubt they will sell it on it's own
>>
>>108953988
Okay when a laptop comes out that beats the MBP let me know and I’ll buy that one. I should have plenty of time to save up
>>
its going to be powerfull enough for everything and above average gaming
but it wont be powerfull enough for anything else

thus he will create a cloud service that will offer some of the current dlss features as cloud only because it wont be powerfull enough

you could use a cheap frontier model through an api for decades before your hardware would pay off, and you get worse results

I read spark laptops are going to have built in hardware level anticheat, so does this make nvidia hardware spyware going forward?
