Thinkpads are not a thing for like 5 years at the very least. For last half a decade they were shilled by corpos, nobody genuinely recommended them, because it makes no sense.
Perhpas very poor people use them, because they can only afford 2012 hardware, or more likely get it for free, or already have it. They are so poor, it makes sense for them. But it's not for general public, not for tech people etc. It's nonesense, only shills spread it.

Framework does this, but people have opinions about it because reasons. I like my 16 and 12, even though the 12 is kinda shit now but it works. I could sell the memory for more than I paid for the whole thing at this point and I might.

Dell, HP, and Lenovo have things that are still pretty okay but not as good as the old days.
