>>108957498I'm not poor.
>>108957510120mm fans mog every 80-100mm fan shroud.
isn't it crazy that these things cost a ton of money now and the best they can do is a pair of 80 cent no name china special fans?can we just stop pretending to care about PCI-E slots and just go full thick now?
>>108957498Eh, why bother? It only hits like 65C at the full 450W anyway, it's fine without modding and shit.
>>108957611Noise/thermals balance is better on full-size 120mm fans. Likely better if you slap some thick ones on there, since they can push more air at lower speeds.
>>108957498A new fan for my GPU cost $10. If you can afford a GPU, you can afford to repair it properly. I did have to do some janky shit while I waited for it in the mail, though. Pic related.
>>108957615I'm sure noise would improve somewhat but it's not really loud enough to bother me in the first place. I've had cards with shittier coolers before which ran both hotter and louder at the same time, maybe it would've been worth it to fuck with those but the one I'm using now doesn't need any intervention.
>>108957621My fans worked just fine, still deshrouded and zip tied 120mm's. They're simply better. If I had the means I'd 3D print a custom mounting bracket.
>>108957621deshrouding isn't a repair, that's an upgrade.
>>108957510Money doesn't buy creativity and problem solving skills.
>>108957643>>108957640I have to admit that my temps were really good with no fan shroud. Still they were the same when I put it back on with the new fan. Maybe it makes more of a difference for the higher TDP cards. The stock heatsink and fans for my 2060s in my pic were already overkill.
