They're all different websites, they don't have any unified interface. And their interfaces change from time to time. So instead of maintaining your script and keeping it up to date, you make AI figure out what is the current interface (usually REST API, graphql etc). Then you ask it to use those interfaces (20 requests, each to different website, with different API). Then you ask it to unify all the responses, since they are also all in different fromats. Then you use that data for something. In our oversimplified example, you would paste it all as regular human readable text. And maybe also summarize it all as well.You can vibe code things like this and it will actually work. And it was not possible not long ago, even without vibe coding part. Becuase natural language processing was not there. Not it's solid enough for this simple stuff.

>>108963628Unless you have your own beefy hardware , APIs are basically required if you want to use shit like clot code or other comparable "agent harnesses" because using those allows the AI to actually DO shit or take action beyond just generating code and reading files. This is particularly useful if you're right no-coder like me who wants to create his own things or unfuck pre-existing abandone-ware. The API back ends also tend to be a lot less nerfed in capabilities and noticeably less nanny like guardrails compared to the web app/mobile frontends like 90% of people use.
