Are 2-in1 laptops worth it?
No.Same thing with gaymen laptops. You are getting the worst of both worlds, and they are very prone to damage.
just buy a second hand ipad
>>108966213>still more expensive than a first hand brand new android tablet>dead battery on arival>potentially stolenWhy would you do it?
they are very comfy for sorting through images in tablet mode while laying on the couch or in your eames lounge chair, going through picture galleries or just a specific year's download folderi'm like 2% done with my 10,6TB paid premium porn folder (deleting model folders if they are not top 1%) (and it's only high-fashion tier solo models here, so think like femjoy, metart, vixen)
>>108965992laptop in any shape aren't worth it unless you're low-iq
>>108965992My Ideapad is alright, the pen/tablet functionality feels sloppy though. If you absolutely must use a single device for computer and tablet tasks it is fine, otherwise >>108966213
>>108965992In theory yesIn practice they’re shit
>>108965992No, get a tablet instead.
>>108966209Not a gamer but the difference between your office Loosenovo with a 4060 and a gaming Loosenovo with a 4060 is a better cooling system, you can render or work for longer without the fucking thing sounding like it's gonna take off, if you have issues that means you bought a poorfag laptop with no proper cooling. And 2in1 laptops are just fucking stupid. So you're just 50% dumb af
>>108965992too heavy to be a tablettoo fragile to be a laptop
>>108965992Don't understand the hate, honestly. I'm using one right now. It's build solid, and as an avid laptop touchscreen enjoyer it simply gives me more options. Tent/stand mode are useful, and while too my 14" is too big to comfortably use in tablet mode for long, it happens and it's fine. It's all about maximum options and I enjoy that. I don't think I sacrificed anythng for that afaik. I'm sure smaller 13-11" 2-in-1s are more sensible for actually going tablet>laptop mode constantly.Dedicated tablets are gay imo, but that's the thing about opinions is that you're allowed to have a different one.
>>108965992They were never good at anything and they just add extra flimsinesst. I bought one once>>108966292That makes no sense, resting the laptop on your belly and tapping the right arrow button to scroll through pics seems comfier
are you a corporate slave that has to sign PDFs all the time?do you want a laptop that can become a drawing tablet sometimes?are you an artist that's also a linux zealot that doesn't want to waste money on an iOS or android-based garbage tablet to draw outside?you're an incredibly niche within a niche use case and that's when you get a 2-in-1
honestly yeah. my work gave me one and it's really handy. just flip it on its keyboard to use with a dock, flip it entirely around into tablet if you need to show someone something real quick but they're like five steps away, tent mode is nice for getting a little bit more room to watch stuff on it, lots of little stuffit looks like a meme at first but makes it way handier than a normal laptop and it's not like you lose anything for it>>108973708>corporate slave that has to sign PDFs all the time?this nigga has never had a job. digital signing uses electronic certificates.
I have a thinkpad x1 yoga. It's nice to flip it vertical like op pic when playing a vidya or watching YouTube in bed just so the sheets don't suffocate the vents. Sometimes I go full tablet mode when reading a really long pdf. That's about the only two use cases.
>>108973708>do you want a laptop that can become a drawing tablet sometimes?>are you an artist that's also a linux zealot that doesn't want to waste money on an iOS or android-based garbage tablet to draw outside? This fits nicely into my usecase. I'm not an artist yet, but if I had the tool I could go to /ic/ and then find some other reason to procrastinate forever.
>>108974124when you consider that the only >USE CASE for a laptop is either full comfy mode or soulless corporate activity, and both of those things are best served by a tablet and a usb keyboard, it really does make sense to just get a laptop that can flip its integrated keyboard out of the way when convenientit is basically just what if tablet + tablet keyboard sleeve thing, but the keyboard sleeve thing wasn't unusable dogshit
>>108966213tablets dont have good operating systems
>>108965992Unless you're an autistic artist in need of drawing digitally on the go, no.
>>108965992Lol no
>>108965992Sort of. The biggest benefit is usually that the screens aren't shit. I don't care that it folds in half or has touch input but if I have to fucking stare at the thing for hours, it better not have a shitass washed out TN screen. 2in1s never do. They're always IPS and usually have good brightness and colors.
>>108975108nah the common "tablet with a keyboard" convertible laptops of today are shit for actually doing art.that said the Elitebook 2560p is 9001 years old, is thinkpad-adjacent, and is natively compatible with wacom pens so you can actually draw on it properly. (do not attempt to draw on it with the normal touchscreen, it is just as ass as modern ones) it's an ancient piece of dogshit with soldered ram though and weighs like 90 kilos so it's a terrible laptop and even worse tablet, but it has some janky charm
>>108965992i likes mine. Honestly it spends the most time in secret 3rd mode of pretending to be a mini pc, but the toilet/lounging modes are still nice.
>>108975712How's the display? I've been trying to talk myself out of getting a onexplayer super.
>>108965992I had a surface book back in the day and I thought it was worth it. Wish microsoft still made it
