I have identified three main uses for AI: (1) software engineering and (2) mass surveillance, and (3) psychological manipulation. If (1) is the only thing that we are using AI for we probably don't need all these datacenters, I doubt software engineering takes that much energy. So the rest of the energy will probably be used for mass surveillance and psychological manipulation. You can be a vibeGOD and still oppose datacenter buildout because we just don't need that much power.
