Erm you can just ask copilot to open the contextual menu for you ok?
>he hasn't been using the same keyboard for 20 years
hahaha i have it on my 100%
I have it, also.

>>108968050I like how fast it is, but I'd be willing to consider other lightweight options. I assume VS Code or whatever it's called is a complete bloatfest and haven't tried it. All that being said, I've been using vim for quite a while now and haven't been bothered by the ESC spam.

My keyboard has this key and instead sacrifices the second windows key for the fn key.
>>108968407Same, and I never use either keyI miss the right windows key for Win+L though
>>108967928Logitech K120 doesn't have this problem :)
>>108967928where'd it go? my keyboard is from like 2011. but yes i'd agree i wouldn't buy a keyboard without a menu key

>>108967933I haven’t found a way to otherwise use the Run As Different User option using only your keyboard, while is needed in my corpo to run shit as admin at all using a domain admin account because local admin accounts aren’t really an easily accessible thing. >>108968407Same but I remapped FN back to win because it's just for backlight control which I do through software anyway, and use the menu key as the main AHK shortcut modifier where menu + FN = actual menu key function just in case.

What was that 105 key keyboard I keep seeing being posted the Commander? Thats' what we need
>>108970538Uhh you have Joe Strandberg's F122 reproduction (can be modded for a shorter space and extra modifier)
>>108970538And the Hyper 7 keyboard that has even more keys than that. Also Joe offers a novelty "Any Key" keycap so you can brag about actually having that on your keyboard
>>108967933pressing the right mouse button can move the mouse slightly. sometimes I need to open the context menu at a really precise position and that small movement causes the cursor to be outside the desired area.pressing the keyboard key doesn't move the mouse cursor.
>>108970612The Hyper 7 was what I put in for in a group buy a few years ago but pulled out on the last minute. Still kind of wish I went through with it because cmon who doesn't want a nuclear plant's control panel as their keyboard

>>108970606I have the first edition of the model F and I was disappointed because of just how fucking heavy it is, it actually detracted from the buckling spring experience. Are these still metal or made out of plastic?>these things are cheaper than the new model F I boughtmy god
>>108967933It's how you run start menu shortcuts as admin on Windows
>>108971670What was the initial price for the F62/F77 when he first got around to making them? And yes, these are still all metal, but in case of the whole FSSK/F104/F122 lineup, it's no longer the extra dense zinc alloy that he used for the initial F62/F77 batch. It's a steel backplate and aluminium frame, for the sake of weight saving (yes, really) with the F122 weighing in at around four kilos like the original Battleship. Of course this still mean you'll have the resonance of the metal case. Can't really complain about weight of his F122 repro when the IBM OG was also a 4kg behemoth.I'm planning on stuffing mine with polyfill and floss modding once I get mu unit to "refine" the sound, make it less echoey and boil it down to just the flippers clacking against the PCB. I paid for it last month so given his order backlog it should ship this month hopefully. I'd be spending premium on the exact type of keyboard I'd like and his F122 layout just speaks to me so whatever, imma take the risk, if I dug around my second hand 3090 I can dig around a Model F assembly.
>>108972008>What was the initial price for the F62/F77 when he first got around to making them?I don't remember without looking up the original receipt, but for me it was $529 with addons and about $400 without. The addons were extra keys to fuel an autistic obsession I had with model M style L shaped enter keys and extra printed keys. The sound was the least of my problems honestly, I liked the sound. It's definitely one of the dense zinc models. I remember holding out for a beam spring keyboard, but now that it's out I would almost want a battleship instead.
>>108972093Joe also has Battleship layout beam springs available, and those have MX-style keycap crosses. Maybe this is the dream keyboard you're looking for.
>>108972111That may be the dream keyboard I'm looking for, thanks for making me aware of it.
>>108972121No prob.Tho I wonder how much I'll regret getting that F122. I mean, I plan on opening up the assembly to do the short spacebar mod so making sure every flipper has it's spring on straight and tight should be piss easy at that point and the setup shouldn't be that painful, right?
>>108972213If you get the buckling spring ones that I did, it's fairly simple to work on and do alignment work on it. I think I only had to align it once or twice, and it takes ~2 minutes to open and IIRC if you want to do any kind of tightness or spring modding, you don't have to take it apart, take the key off and the spring is right there.
>>108972258Yeah I got a ton of context off of just watching and reading about these. I'm probably worrying more about any potential finnicky issues that may arise with the mechanism, like the capacitors not getting the signals right or the springs not buckling right. Guess it won't be much of an issue if I'm planning on opening the assembly, then I can inspect every single spring and flipper to make sure nothing's misaligned in any way to not have to fiddle with tweezers in the barrels afterwards to just get them moving right. And then I'm assuming, just from everything I've seen online, that for the floss mod I'll have to account for the flipper mounting nub and the key nub to make sure there's no collision for the buckling in there, and polyfill is just stuffing the damn thing with polyester fluff.Funny how it's been well over a month since I decided to get one, I'm still hyped to get my hands on it and I already have the entire modding plan laid out, and I don't even have the thing yet. But I probably won't regret it, after 8 years of MX Browns it's time to get something properly tactile, loudness be damned.
>>108967928It's right there. You didn't buy a memetroon circumcized "keyboard", right?
>>108967928Use case for cloning RMB on a keyboard?

>>108972299>Yeah I got a ton of context off of just watching and reading about these. I'm probably worrying more about any potential finnicky issues that may arise with the mechanism, like the capacitors not getting the signals right or the springs not buckling right.Thankfully: You can adjust these. The QMK software let's you adjust for capacitive sensitivity. I had to adjust for a couple of keys that were double tapping, and it hasn't come back since.
>>108973543I heard you could only do a full board calibration without being able to do per-pad tuning. That's good to know. I assume that all of that can be done in Vial? And when you want to enable a pad for a layout mod that's also all available in Vial?
>>108970738>pressing the right mouse button can move the mouse slightlyDo you have parkinson's?
>>108972111>join online video game match>press win button>lose
>>108973830>I heard you could only do a full board calibration without being able to do per-pad tuning. I remember doing it in QMK using their specific firmware. So idk if I was using a custom version of it or what. It was as simple as selecting the key, selecting the sensitivity, and applying. As for layout mods, I also just applied a new key layer and it was able to apply it. No fanciness needed
>>108973994Hopefully it won't be overly convoluted, I've heard horror stories about how ass QMK is to use so I hope Vial will have all the settings exposed in an easy to digest way. Not that I wouldn't be able to figure out QMK, I probably would, but fuck me if I don't like it when I don't have to fight the software I use.
