We write C on microcontrollers and our teachers are based 50-60y/o Unix programmers, you can just banter with them. Maths and physics you can just cheat with a good enough calculator. I barely study and I have 4.8/5 as my grade average. The student organizations organize parties and other happenings all the time, boilersuit culture is fun. 1/3rd of our freshman year class was girls. I'm having the time of my life.

I started with java too, moved on to C and later to common lisp and stuck with it. I still use java for minecraft modding so it wasn't totally useless
