why do all the big name famous programmers use mac instead of linux?
they only ever use linux through ssh on a server

In the 2000s, the Linux desktop experience could be annoying and a hassle if you weren't a /g/ ricer type. Mac hardware was nice and the OS was a unix variant. Then they just stayed in the ecosystem.

Corporate resistance to Linux. For example, when I was an Android dev, Mac & Linux just worked with adb but Windows didn't. Corporate would only let me use Mac or Windows. Simple Venn diagram.
