it started already in 2006 with jQuery.
I was there when we first started using it.
worked in an advertising agency at that time

I was making websites back in 2007 indeed, but I was making $60 a year, not $60k.

because you blew all that money on stupid shit instead of supporting political groups who work in your interest, like the Jews do with their money.

I see, you're saying the problem is democracy and the incentive structures they generate.

Yes, at one point it was 2007.

>dipshits realize they have godlike powers
>HAHAHAH, fuck you, pay me more or else I'll quit and you'll have a hard time finding a replacement
>HAHAHAH, fuck you, don't mess with me or I'll obfuscate your codebase
>HAHAHAH, fuck you, I'm gonna fuck around at work and you're gonna pay me for it
>What are you companies gonna do about it?!
>companies respond by flooding the market with workers to drive wages down, and employing spyware to constantly monitor their workers to make sure they are actually working and not sabotaging the company
>Dude, WTF, work sucks now!
Reminds me of a job I worked where the crew we had didn't have much oversight, but we busted our ass and made sure the job was done right. Couple of the older heads retired, we got some newfags who thought 'dude, no oversight means we can just skate by!'. Quality of work went down, suddenly management was looking into why we weren't performing as well, now we have constant oversight.
Perks exist because they are NOT abused. When everyone abuses it to an extreme, the perks go away. Just like how all the free AI proxies dried up when the coding agent fags came along and started constantly hammering them to vibe-code crap.
