Looks like Windows 7 doesn't want to work with anything I want to do anymore. What's the best version of Windows I can "upgrade" to?

Windows 10 Enterprise 2021 LTSC IoT + open shell. Supported until 2032.

lol, lmao!
>>
>>108975149
that's the plan

I just "upgraded" about two months ago after holding out forever on 7. I ended up going W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 21H2. Mostly painless but theres certain quirks I hate in w10 (settings all changed names from 7, scale issues with old settings apps so text is either blurry or small, pinning to quick access also pin it to the task bar item somehow) and things missing/disabled from w10 (windows photo viewer, old open with screen, explorer looks like shit). Open shell to get rid of that god awful start bar. I am still finding things to disable two months in.

11 if you hate yourself, and enjoy lag even on a fast PC, and random things breaking every couple weeks when they push a new update without testing it enough.

10 if you want a somewhat less shitty and more stable experience.

Or switch to the real Windows successor, Linux with Wine.

Just give up trying at this point lad. You'll be happier once you take the dive off that sinking sloppy ship. I did it last year, and while it was rough at start I'm MUCH happier not having to deal with it anymore.
>>
there will never be something as good as windows 7, I'm sorry.

Microsoft SystemD/Ubuntu
You will love it

You can come and help with ReactOS.
>NOOOOO IT'S AN UNFINISHED PIECE OF SHIT
You can obviously put up with some discomfort if you've been using Windows 7 until now, so why not use that to your advantage and help build a better home for your fellow autistic winfags?

Windows 8.1

at that point you will get much farther with wine.

LLMs are poisoned with leaked code, can't risk that.
>>
22H2 is the last supported version of Windows officially by all GPU vendors
>>
>>108975026
What a retard. Just take the linux pill already.
>>
>>108976042
On Linux your desktop environment is buggy.
On Windows both your desktop environment and the underlying OS are buggy.
>>
the latest version is called Ubuntu
you should look into it
>>
>>108976045
If you're only interested in running games, then yes, Wine is much better. There are plenty of reasons to be interested in ReactOS. I personally think that the NT architecture is really neat and Microsoft hasn't been using it to its full potential. Not to mention that both existing ports of Wine for Haiku barely even work.

>>108976058
Legal liability, same reason why it can't use leaked Windows XP code.

>What's the best version of Windows I can "upgrade" to?
Windows is over Anon, you have to either get Linux Mint or something or get a Mac.
>>
>>108975026
>What's the best version of Windows I can "upgrade" to?
switch to linux and run shit through wine or steam
>>
>>108975026
end of the line anon. there is no upgrade.
best you can do is switch to linux and play through proton.
>>
>>108976417
can't they just rewrite the leaked code? it's been done before
>>
>>108976668
Simply looking at the code can get you blacklisted from the project. A rewrite won't fly.
>>
>>108975026
You'll be forced to use the new shit anyway, so get 11 LTSC, debloat it and you are golden until The Next Big Thing.
>>
10 ltsc if you dont play live service games
>>
>>108976769
>"yeah I don't play any new games"
>x game comes it out

FH6 is alright, but you are right about 99% of new games.
>>
>>108976857
This is about live service games anyway, I'd wager none of the good offline ones are going to be W11 exclusive for a while if ever.
>>
>>108975047
Kek running Windows 11 isn't a flex Anon, the shit runs fine on a 15+ year old computer, what's really cancer is Windows 11 refusing to work on as recent as 6th and 7th gen Intel chips, those things are more than enough.

What do you want to do, Anon?
Because it damn well works with everything I want to do.
>>
>>108975026
I'm leaving Win 8.1 this year since I'm building a new pc and lots of audio related programs I want to use just won't work, will be switching to that win 10 version with updates to 2032 or whatever it was
