state of the art ICs would be impossible to analyze without advanced laboratory equipment, and you'd still have to destructively analyze them
if you are even a little familiar with electronics and programming, you'd know it's very easy to hide anything behind even a single bit-channel's worth of data, let alone cleverly hiding things by multiplexing behavior on otherwise innocuous seeming data/pins

so since you can't trust your hardware, the best you can do is isolate it from everyone else's with airgaps and faraday cages

Just follow risc-v development, spread the word and inform others about it's existence. Also, in ~10 years every piece of hardware will be backdoor'd and equipped with spyware. Tech gets better and smaller every day, plenty of room to hide it.

So pray for open source hardware and support risc-v where you can.
