it seems like on most platforms nowadays content including comments are produced by bot farms to fake traffic for shareholders. especialy on twatter its a shitton of blatantly fake shit and obvious engagement bait

Wrong, they're there to fake traffic for content creators whom they get paid by. Shareholders at Meta & Google only care about increasing ad revenue per user, which the fake traffic does nothing for.
>especialy on twatter
Twitter is even worse in this regard because monetization is easier compared to other platforms and a community of tens to a hundred jeets can automate this process, manipulate the algorithm more effectively and boost each other without relying on paying bot farms.

I've never been a fan of reddit but it's extremely apparent on there as well. Also weird shit like the exact same post but the image is doctored to look slightly different, like they'll make a smiling person frown but that's the only difference in the post.
I also believe they added the ability to hide your post history exclusively to support bot activity. They're trying to create the perception that the site is more alive than it is and it's obviously working (stock price)

Google and meta care about increasing traffic numbers so they can lie to shareholders and advertisers

No they don't. Increasing traffic while consumption results from ads remain the same or get lower actually harm Google and devalue their ad network to advertisers. It's in Google's best interests to keep the traffic organic even if the algorithm and content aren't

No, an advertiser cannot know whether the lack of success of their marketing campaigns is due to poor marketing or Google lying about their traffic numbers. The information asymmetry incentivizes globohomo to lie about their traffic numbers and possibly permit bot activity or run them themselves

They do actually when their ads are personally targeted. Your logic would apply only apply if we lived 25 years ago.

Meaningless jibber jabber
>possibly permit bot activity
That's correct. They do infact identify bot traffic from human traffic and allow it, otherwise nothing would go viral in the current state of social media.

Nope, they cannot know, only suspect. Theres no way for an advertiser to know wether a 5% decrease in sales is due to fake traffic, bad marketing or economic trend changes or Jupiters position in the nightsky or whatever the fuck.
>>information asymmetry

filtered.
>Thats correct.
Great. I'm glad I was able to change your misinformed opinion and convince you of my correct point of view.
