>freshly dusted PCBreathe easy, my sweet.
you just raped your pc to an early grave with esd
I dust it twice a month.
I never dusted my 10 year old laptop
>>108978365Are you one of those people who freak out over a little surface dust or is your place extremely dusty?>>108978375I had a desktop replacement I inherited that died, I believe, to overheating. It had an i7-980X & GTX 480M in it and I think the GPU got cooked.
I installed this noctua cpu fan back in early 2020. it's still relatively silent at 100% and I'm trying to see how long it can keep going.
>>108978426All of the above. Also it's air cooled. Also it's summer.
i have an open pc case and haven't cleaned it in 2 years. i see crumbs and spider webs in there
>>108978613pic?
>>108978613Having to deal with even a little bit of cable management has made me miss the time I had all the components splayed out on a piece of particle board. Too bad test benches aren't more of a thing, not everyone needs some glass-enclosed RGB light filled aquarium.
>>108978360I've been blowing on this same motherboard since 2013, the fuck you mean an early grave. I wish this shit would die already but it keeps on working.
>>108978346Use LTSC.
>>108979177Sowwy, I had something in my eye, and read it debloated instead of dusted :(
>>108979205My god... it really is the OS for the retarded
What do you guys use to blow out your computer? Grabbed a $30 air blower and I'm pleased with it. No li-ion battery, no more cans of compressed air.
>>108979583s-sowwy =(
>>108979934Literally that, zero problems.
>>108979934I have a duster that I bought a year or so ago. It's on batteries and I think I charged it three times since I got it. I use it pretty much weekly. Yes, the brand is Lnicez, lol. Got it from Amazon UK.
>>108979934an air compressor
>>108979934how powerful is it?
>>108979934Canned air.
>>108979934>What do you guys use to blow out your computer?
>>108979934
>>108979177>5090 and an ultra 9 just to play gachaslop that can be run on a fucking calculator powered by piss and shiti wish you normalfags would kill yourselves already
>>108980767>normalfagOnly autistic people play that gacha. But genshit is normalfag material, so you're half-right. Also, that i9 and 5090 are laptop so it's pretty much underperforming under its tier class and cooked from the get-go. No wonder anon plays gachashit, throw it a bigger bone and it'll melt like iron in a furnace
>>108980767dont worry that's not a real 5090just a gb203 pretending to be a 5090so it's hardly wasted
>>108980767You can just buy one too for your totally real usecases.
>>108978346I'm terrified of doing it. Putting my computer together feels like defusing a bomb, and once it works, I don't like to do it. I dusted some old spare computers easy and they still worked so I know it probably won't be a problem, but it still terrifies me. I have a setup that lets a lot of air in so after a year and a half it's got real dusty. Even backing everything up doesn't stop me being afraid, because I know the mindbending rage of finding out my PC died is potentially waiting for me, but if I don't dust it, it'll shorten its lifespan and eventually die that way, so I've got to. I'm going to do it real soon.
>>108981065Cleaned out my computer one time and put everything together and my total RAM amount dropped from 16GB to 12GB. Reseated the RAM and it dropped to 10GB. Spent an hour testing every stick of RAM and every DIMM slot. Finally realized the problem was a single dog hair sitting in one of the slots. Whoops.
>>108978346>freshly dusted PCi havent done this in 5 years
ngl all i do is just clean the front filter panel
>>108979934a datavac which is that but twice the pricedoes it do twice the work? idk, but it does seem to be pretty good quality at least. apparently air coming out from betweeen the seals is normal
>>108978346>>108979934>>108980159Dont make your fans spin fast with these!! You're killing your hardware!!
I cleaned my buddies PC with him the other day, His CPU heatsink was a little melted on one side, as well as the plastic part that connects it to the motherboard. The thermal paste on his CPU and GPU were both crusty so we repasted that. Some weird shit happened with the displays on his monitor but after we updated his Nvidia driver (575>610) it went back to normal. I'm still scared we missed something and he's gonna call me for help but so far nothing. Idk if I'm retarded on Windows but I couldn't find the driver version in the Nvidia app or control center, so I just used nvidia-smi. I always assumed it was a Linux thing.
>>108978346I did this too, was screwing down some ssds and found the spinning disk only held down by a single screw. Decided I might as well blow out the dust if I was going to do more work inside. Was expecting it to be more dusty, was the first time and it's an old machine now.
>>108979934I just used the blower function of a vacuum, couldn't tape down the case fans so kept them from spinning with some clips and taped down the cpu fan.The machine booted up just fine after so that was good.
>>108979934my mouth
I used to use a hand-pump meant for blowing balloons. It was less than ideal but at least I stopped getting dizzy blowing on my heatsink
>>108984984there's another use case for your mouth
>>108978346I cleaned my entire keyboard the other day. Everyone else has a dirty keyboard rn.
>>108985712man i cant be bothered to pull keycaps off
>>108985732if you have a decent keyboard they come with a keycap puller included or just buy onemakes you type like 50 wpm faster, touching it feels good and boost your morale by 100%
>>108985772i have a mechanical, redragon with outemu blues, came with a puller. It's just so damn tedious so I only do it like once a year.
>>108984604Only if you make them spin too fast. I've been cleaning my laptop too for years now without any issues. You can also blow a bit of air in the exhaust to dislodge dust bunnies. Lenovo laptops do this nowadays, where they will spin the fans in the opposite direction every now and then. Or HP? Iforgot the brand.
>spend an hours cleaning and dusting PC>can barely tell I even did anything a week laterOne thing nobody tells you about living in a small studio apartment is the insane dust. Also anytime you cook something you'll be smelling it for days afterward.
>>108980129NTA but your mistake is going to require me to use your bussy. I will be loving and passionate though.
>>108986945E-ehm, s-sure, I would l-love that~
>>108987025Good girl.
>>108986330This. I vacuum every 3 days every nook and cranny and it's like bowl or dust. If I don't do it for a week a literal cover of dust is on everything.
>>108986945>>108987025>>108987431TA and I think both of you should drown in a sewer
>>108979177does LTSC make windows more secure?
>>108989433It leaves out (((((feature))))) updates so kind of? Makes it less bloated anyway
