C++ and things like it are messes that were thrown together for large organizations so you could try to get actual productivity out of brain dead (often brown) employees, the abstractions are necessary because you need programmers who can't understand the actual system to use it. It's not actually well suited to anything and people just use it out of habit because they've worked for those large companies that used it or are emulating people who have. There is 0 actual reason to use it past wanting to work at those garbage companies.
