OWN NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!OWN NOTHING GOY!!!!YOU'LL OWN NOTHING!!!!!DO YOU HEAR ME GOY?!?!?YOUWILLNOTOWNANYTHING
>>108982471who knows. a decade is a long time on this planet. i for one, don't believe the own nothing movement will succeed.
>>108982471Coud computing with thin clients because nobody will be able to afford anything anymore.
>>108982471we will be subterranean and will draw straws to see who goes to the surface to try and upright the starlink antenna.

>>108982668Isn't that what we have now, by and large? I don't necessarily see an issue with that sort of system architecture. Most people just use their phones or at most laptops as email and browser machines already.Gamers who love AAA goyslop and "need" the most performant hardware available may suffer to go without. I am more than content with some cheap servers and a $500 mid-range laptop for 99% of what I do, and I would consider myself a tech enthusiast. Honestly most of the doom surrounding computing power ownership seems to stem from enjoying an unprecedented superabundance for so long.
unless le agi actually gets invented it will look exactly the same as it was before. 90% of useless waste of space mouthbreathers talking in buzzwords and barely doing any work drinking 20 dollar lattes while small minority overworks fixing their bullshit. Everything multiplied with AI of course.
Desktop PC is having its last breath. Tomorrow is smartphones and MacBook neo running a locked ecosystem
>>108983158Waldo hasn't shown up since this dropped.
>>108982668Nobody is forcing you to upgrade or buy a new computer, tech illiterate gamer retard.>>108983515Desktops stopped being relevant 20 years ago.
>>108982471PDAs and ultraportables are ultra-ubiquitous. Desktop systems as we know them will be seen as museum places like mainframes of previous decades. Locked platforms in walled gardens are a fact of life. Heterogeneous computing is the norm. ASICs are regressed back to niches.
>>108982471You will be happy to own nothing.
E = mc2 + AI
>>108983035>subterranean mentioned
>>108982471nothing be happy
>>108982471Out of curiosity, say hypothetically I got on board, and just decided I didn't want to own anything and agreed with their rentier vision of the world.When does the "I'll be happy" part start?
