What to get, I can't deal with an installation of an ac so recommend me some good fan anons
>>
just get whatever you can afford bro. fans are solved technology
>>
tower fans are prone to rattling just get a regular oscillating fan with a remote.
>>
>>108985802
If you want your whole body to get fanned while you're sitting in a computer chair, you need a tower fan.
The circular fans are kinda retarded because they only really cool your face or upper body, so you get dry eyes and shit
>>
>>108985802
I've heard good about Lasko and Vornado. Anything that is used in a industrial environment is probably going to outlive you.
>>
bought one recently, got a Phillips CX1520/01 for 61 euros. Comes with a remote and 3 speeds, good build quality and out of all the ones I saw was the best bang for your buck (where I live)
>>
>>108985802
Get a box fan, scotch tape, and 20x20 inch MERV filters. Air cooling and purifier all in one.
>>
i have a dreo smart fan. it has a remote and also an app. i can turn it on/off from bed.
>>
I have two Dreo fans.

They're good.

DREO Tower Fan 714S
&
DREO TurboPoly Fan 765S

It takes like 15 minutes to install a portable AC from box to cooling. How fucking lazy are you?

I recently got a Dreo Nomad that's very powerful even at slower speeds. My only regret was not buying one sooner.
>>
>>108985802
That rowenta on the right is basically the gold standard. Lasts for decades is pretty quiet for the airflow and has just enough useful features without adding useless bullshit on top. I prefer open fans to ducted ones because you usually have multiple people in a room that tend to move around. I found that while focused airflow is more efficient a more diffuse flow is preferable when it comes to this type of fan. Crossflow fans are even more focused and you end up having to be right in the sweet spot to get any kind of breeze. Desk or work fans are usually better when ducted.
>>
>>108986550
I have one and it is simply too loud
>>
>>108985802
Levoit tower fan

>>108985986
Only if you buy the cheap shit kind with a shrouded pole motor instead of brushless.
>>
>>108986561
It doesn't get much better for that type of fan. around 48db is the best you can hope for if you want any appreciable airflow at this blade size. Otherwise you'll have to increase blade size and you might as well install an overhead fan at this point. Tower fans can be quieter but the airflow is worse. No free lunch.
>>
>>108986603
Not him, but I personally prefer my >>108986482
Dreo 765S.
>>
>>108986609
It's probably a good fan. Cross flow fans like this are more efficient and therefore quieter if the motor is quality. I just don't like tower fans because of their airflow pattern for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post.
>>
I got one of the Dreo ones from Amazon. Its quiet, moves a lot of air and has a remote.
Sometimes it vibrates a bit when oscillating
>>
>>108986634
Tower fans are crossflow fans.
>>
>>108986671
I know that why I use these terms interchangeably.
>>
>>108986482
>DREO TurboPoly Fan 765S
>Air circulator

Apparently if you want to use it with voice controls you have to call it an "Air ciruclator" not a fan.
>>
>>108985802
I have the levoit on the left and I love it. 12 speed settings, and the first 3 are basically dead silent but still move air, and the noise profile is pretty good too. I also have a much cheaper tower fan unit with the most annoying piercing sound due to some kind of resonance. Sometimes expensive things are better.

Personally I prefer crossflow fans due to the much less turbulent stream they create regardless of price point, but noise is hit or miss, while cheap axial fans probably won't sound as bad while their airflow will feel very turbulent. Oh, and keep an eye for serviceability: my Levoit fan can be disassembled with just two screws and that simplifies cleaning immensely, while the cheap fan needs a full disassembly to access the fan.
>>
I have a Meacofan, I had the old 10" model and when they released a slightly quieter model a year or two back I instantly bought it. Love this fucking thing, it's so quiet.

Honeywell.

Some people rent and have restrictions on window units.
>just move
Or just pay $90 for a good tower fan and call it close enough.
>>
>>108985802
Just buy A/C like a normal white person Yuropoor scum :^)
or smth like that idk it's raining today and I live in a house built of of rebar and I really need to clean my fan already

I have a cheap simple Honeywell fan
pretty good except for the awkward controls
>>
Xiaomi has great fans. Tons of various models, I got most of them.
One of them starting to break down after like 6 years of being on 14-16hours a day. But I dismantled it and shoved a bunch of wd40 into the motor and now it seems to be fine.

Their air circulation ones are great, 2axis, very strong and a ton of air is moved. The others are quiet and great for sleep. All wifi, most of them have built in batteries.

one of these only shit that's good
>>
>>108986939
I replaced one of those with two Dreo fans and wouldn't go back.

So much quieter, and while less immediate air volume is being moved, the DISTANCE and speed of the air is signifcantly better.

How do you install a portable AC with a European window

theres floor ac units with tubes you can stick anywhere
>>
ceiling fans are underrated, I got a light and fan combo and it's great, in winter you can flip the rotating setting and it won't blow air down but will keep airflow in the room

no floor real estate
>>
>>108987128
No outside condenser = not real AC

Use your hand
>>
>>108987222
That's not how it works, contrary to your trips
>>
I used to recommend Vornado but I've had several fail on me. They're also way overpriced now and overrated. This Rowenta is also way overpriced but I got it on sale. It's quieter and more importantly actually easy to take apart and clean which is impossible with the Vornado or copycats.

A regular 12V 100/120mm computer fan running at 5V of an old smartphone charger. Completely silent. Sufficient up to 30 C (depending on how humid it is ofc) if you're just sitting down and not exerting yourself. Tbqhwyf I find that large fans blow too much and sometimes it feels like while the fan cools my skin it makes my core body temp go up. But if it's not enough you can use 2 or even 4 fans. And it's still silent.
>>
>>108986939
Yeah that's cope. Brushless tower fans are one case where spending a lot more gets you something fundamentally different and better even though it looks similar.
>>
>>108987128
It looks fuck ugly, rental properties still prohibit, and it's 30% less efficient than real AC because all the moving parts dissipate heat indoors.
>>
>>108985802
Just do the AC, anon. Fans are good for cycling air around, but they're not going to do shit on those 90f days.
>>
>>108987906
>le ugly
Shut up woman.
>prohibited
Nope. Stop lying.
>less efficient
Also wrong. No, the shitepump salesman on youtube is not proof of your assertion.
>>
>>108987921
You don't need a youtuber to show you that they have a lower CEER rating
>>
basically you want big cheap fan

it is possible to ask for fan with startup circuit if you run it 24/7
>>
A good Lasko air circulator fan like this last years.. This is what I have and it's also pretty loud on it's highest setting so it has been useful for background noise like in apartments.

I got a chinkshit DC motor fan, the build is 100% plastic but it's still decently sturdy. At the lowest speed it's almost completely inaudible.
Very comfy when used with my AC.

Something like this if you want to cool a whole room. Just put it in the doorway pointing toward you. But remember to put a box fan in a window as exhaust; the main fan is going to move air over you, your body heat will be carried away via convective cooling from sweat BUT the now hot air needs to be pushed *out* of the room. Ideally out of your home altogether.
>>
>>108986528
Depends on their situation; e.g. I live in a condo, the HOA will have a shit fit and fine me out the asshole for using a window unit AC, but since I'm a homeowner and not a renter I'm the one responsible for the goddamn Central AC and the thousands of dollars it'll cost me to replace it so I've been using fans to get through this heatwave in my area.

>I can't deal with an installation of an ac
Buy a portable one
fans are worthless
>>
>>108987906
>It looks fuck ugly
Boo hoo nigger
>rental properties still prohibit
nobody fucking prohibits a box with wheels, it’s like prohibiting a coffee machine
>and it's 30% less efficient than real AC
in other words it’s 70% as efficient as real ac
Fucking yuropoors I swear, your godforsaken continent might actually improve after your helpless, effete kind gets replaced by muslims
>>
Sorry, can't help you. Gringos cannot have access to the objectively best fans in the market.

If you cant navigate the three clips on a vornado you have no business talking about being able to dismantle something, you are black, and stupid.
>>
>>108991753
None of this explains why you can't install a split system.
>>
>>108993138
Maybe it's a rental, so OP isn't allowed to modify the place at all.
>>
>>108991858
the best fan and the worst fan are about the same tho when it comes to cooling, and the cheapest AC is still 10x more expensive than the average price fan
>>
>>108992355
The one I had doesn't have clips so maybe they changed something.
>>
>>108985802
If you're going to buy Lasko, get a Wind Machine floor fan. Mine's been great for 2 years. Everything else I've bought from them has been shit. When this fan dies, I'm looking at a different manufacturer.

Is 250$ for a cheap AC too much for you?
