It's not 2010 anymore. IPS with 99% srgb isn't considered "good for creation" anymore because the competition isn't 80% 250nit TN panels. It's bottom of the barrel now.

Yeah it's much better over all and so is VA. It's not perfect, nothing is.
My point is that you might end up with a shitty OLED that burns a lot for whatever reason, but IPS is by no means "safe" from it, as I have experienced first hand TWICE.

>It will burn in regardless.
Nah, most likely not.
My main PC display is a 4k 144hz hdr1000 VA now, but my laptop is OLED, I have had it for 15 months now, most of the time displaying static pictures, no sign of burn in at all so far. Keeping the flawless record of OLED for me.

Blaming PC for that is just an easy excuse, because it dodges the real problem of their games being bland, woke trash that less and less people care about each time, and the fact that they shut down their best studio and do nothing with their most beloved IPs. >>

>I had 4 IPS screens, 2 with very visible burn-in.
Idk what you're buying but LCDs don't get burn in. You can sometimes get some minor image retention if you display the same high contrast for like a week straight and then view a dim low contrast image. But it'll fade on its own in a few days, unlike OLED burn in which is permanent.

>>
>>108989125
IPS is just and LCD panel type, just like VA.
What matters for proper HDR on LCD is the backlight, it needs to be a MiniLED-driven full array locally dimmed backlight with a good amount of zones for HDR.
Ironically OLED kind of sucks for HDR since it requires extremely aggressive ABL (at the hardware level) which causes a very steep brightness curve which ruins bright scenes or any content that shifts between dark and bright scenes. It's great for pixel-perfect starfields though, if thats your thang.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHpTNt_O0h4

the things only standout features are a redundant for 99% people controller charger that cant be used if the monitor bottom is close to the desk which is braindead design, and the admittedly neat (plastic) design of the stand and chassis

they mention:
HDR as a feature of an edgelit ips panel? and vrr + 240hz.
So thats something.

they didnt make the panel, thats on chinks and the panel is not technically impressive by any means.
The video is confusing in the sense it sounds like a boss told some employees to write a script for this and they acted like stressed college students who had to reach a word count so they listed every mundane or misleading feature of the panel.

>the things only standout features are a redundant for 99% people controller charger that cant be used if the monitor bottom is close to the desk which is braindead design
Talk about brain damage when you yourself think 99% of people have their monitors standing on their own in the desk with 0 to minimal clearance.

If your monitor isn't atleast 15cm off the desk like in the video then you need to rethink your life choices.
