it has six of them, running at 2 ghz. there are also two Cortex-A76 units but those are gay. is it any better than the A53 that i've relied on in every phone for 10+ years?

What I understand is for 1080p AV1 video you need Cortex A78 or better. So maybe stick with 720p AV1 video if you use AV1 video at all.
