>YouTube is a website and uses algorithms which are technology

What the fuck is up with this piece of shit of a platform? It's never been this bad. I get no new recommendations, it throws the same shit at me every time even if I've already watched it. I'm stuck in content silos, if you dare watch a single video of some dude breaking a lock then that's it, your frontpage is now lockpicking. Unless I specifically go looking for something myself (and even then, the search function is borked and throws unrelated slop like Mr. Beast within the results), it's unusable.
>>
it's not you, it's how most people behave. most people want to watch the same thing over and over that's why most youtube channels are templates repeated thousands of times

Good post saaar.
>>
>>108991540
the fact that there is no way to filter all views for "unwatched" should be a critical and damning sign that youtube is zogged adslop
>>
>>108991540
I'm also tired of seeing shit that I've already seen

>being too retarded to use the search bar

NGMI
I recommend buying some rope and finding a high cross beam.

i haven't watched youtube in weeks because i just generate AI videos with a local model and make entertaining stuff
>>

Like what? Post some.
>>
>>108992149
they only take 1.5 minutes to generate on my computer, so i can have hundreds of different clips to watch and i sometimes get ones with very cool audio

glad Apple forced them to encode VR180 videos into 8K AV1, before the visionOS app youtube would just randomly stop encoding at 4k
>>
>>108991540
Clear your watch later list. 99.99999% of the time people complaining about the same videos over and over have hundreds of videos in the WL which causes the algorithm to shit the bed thanks to Indian programming talent. Making a custom playlist and using that as a watch later list unironically works as a fix.

what in the fuck kind of turboautism is this, why would anyone watch these. I mean, good for you and do whatever floats your boat, but wtf.
>>
>>108991949
I just want sort by date back in the seach results, it was a good way to find new content since the feed is all fucked up now you are stuck to whatever the most popular video was for niche stuff or you get only ai slop for popular stuff
>>
>>108992292
You can find actual real life combat footage on YouTube though. And tons of it. Why you'd choose to watch this stuff instead is beyond me. Like the other anon said, turboautism is the best explanation.
>>
>>108992034
Back when YouTube's recommendations algorithm actually worked, it recommended me some stuff that I couldn't have ever thought about searching for on my own. Sadly, that didn't last. It's probably for the best, I was genuinely addicted for a while, as dumb as that sounds.
>>
Can someone recommend a way to download videos on my phone? Snaptube, newpipe, 9x, they all failed me
>>
>>108992386
pipepipe works for me, android 14 upwards
>>
>>108992034
have you actually used the search bar past 2016 faggot?
>search up a thing
>here is five videos about [the thing]
>here is shorts about [not the thing]
>here is 5 videos about [not the thing]
>more shorts about [not the thing]
>more videos about [not the thing]
>here is a three hour video about [not the thing]
>there is no page 2. literally. they removed page 2.
>>
>>108992362
yeah if we were still in 2008. youtube doesn't have anything interesting now. show me videos of nuclear bombs exploding next to a carrier strike group
>>
The recommendation algo not working for you is a blessing. Find something else to do.

i accept your concession

Does everyone have these at the top of their home page? Peak schizo nu-tube.
>"musical ensembles" opens up a seemingly endless feed of mid 2010s hits and celebrities being interviewed about something related to music
I sometimes search and watch good live performances on youtube (which is increasingly difficult to do, since FAGGOT robot interprets 'live' as livestreaming), but this tab has nothing to do with it.
>"gaming" tab is literally 12 videos about World of Warcraft and Starcraft, can't scroll any further, just 12 random videos about these two games.
WoW I sort of get but I have never played Starcraft or watched a video about it.
>"podcasts" tab is mostly episodes which I HAVE ALREADY LISTENED TO and a shit ton of 'Breaking Points' newsslop videos because I mistakenly clicked one of their videos, also stops scrolling after around 20 videos
Been listening to podcasts on youtube for over a decade. Does not recommend anything related to the casts I actually listen to.

My account was created on September 4, 2006. Been using the same account ever since.

Completely blue pilled

alternative front ends are the only real option. Youtube became great when I found an obscure schizto re-upload channel on newpipe posting dozens of vids from other creators. I just find out what creator made the vid he reuploaded and then I have a new channel to follow and enjoy.

You're right though, I can't take needing like 6 adons to make the front page not garbage anymore. And I also can't take the recommendations. You misclick or click on one type of content spam and boom, now you'll see it for weeks. Truth is, cutting out youtubes front end site is the only good option. Just like google.com, it's basically worse than useless nowadawys.
>>
>>108992666
Yes, Satan. And they're complete crap. The "New to you" one is occasionally decent, but not too often.

Plus, they added them to the recommendations sidebar now (that shows up on the right after you open a video). And whatever they did completely disabled the "Not interested" and "Don't recommend this channel" buttons. Absolute enshittification.
>>
>>108992453
Your order is wrong. The 5 videos about the thing are usually like 50 videos down. don't forget

>People also watched[none of the thing]
>Recommended for you(a bunch of videos you already watched 2 days ago)[also not the thing]
>>
>>108991540
So true. I've been spamming the "Don't recommend channel" option every time I see something slightly uninteresting on my front page for years and now my feed is always just about 20 videos from the same five channels even if I've watched all of them + some crappy "playlists" that I can't block. After spending an hour catching up on whatever my favorite channels have uploaded I literally have nothing to watch on YouTube so I just put on some music and browse 4chan or Xitter for a while if I want to relax.
