Reminder that this fuckface bought half the world's RAM supply until 2030 with money he doesn't have, not because he needed it but in order to cripple the consumer computing market
This because he knew that self hosted, open source AI models would inevitably end up eating ChatGPT's lunch, because a minified specialty model will always outperform a huge general use one whilst costing several orders of magnitude less energy, computing power and money to train and run
>>
I don't need to be reminded, next time keep it to yourself.

He's always been good at this kind of Machiavellian strategizing. It's how he got power in the first place.

Clearly OpenAI does not see local inference as a competitor. Not to mention other players on the market, like those building inference ASICs with performance better than NVIDIA's, several orders of magnitude better. They are not even considered competitors. They don't have RAM, after all.

The RAM squeeze was clearly an anti-competitive measure though
In order to make use of all of that memory, AI demand would have to grow x100 in the next couple of year
Instead it's plateauing or even deflating due to the end of the subsidized tokens era making executives see that high end agents are actually more expensive and error prone than junior devs

Reminder that the ADL was founded because a Jew named Leo FRANK raped and murdered his 13 year old employee and framed his black custodian. When it looked like he was going to be convicted by a jury, Jews banded together and bribed the judge and jury. A lynch mob delivered justice for the raped and murdered CHILD. And the ADL was formed.

This slimy Jew and his attorneys literally could not convince white Georgia jury to convict a negro for the murder because the evidence was too convincing proving this slimy Jew rapist was the murderer.

The ADL was founded to protect pedo jews

You overcomplicate this.
He bought them because RAM shortage makes it seem like AI is flourishing and is only limited by the lack of resources...

Those contracted RAM chips aren't even being manufactured.
They were paid to not make anything.
>>
>>108993635
Have any of these ram chips even been delivered yet? Does he even have the ability to use them?
>>
>>108993671
>They were paid to not make anything.
Doesn't work like that. Nobody has been paid yet, and none of the chips have been manufactured either. That being said I wouldn't be suprised if in a couple of months when these chips get manufactured that open ai shots itself and backs out.
>>
>>108993682
They haven't been made yet
Hell, the chips they're meant to be soldered onto haven't been made yet

Some of it was the same trillion dollars nvidia and openAI were bouncing between each other without actually having a cent of it, some of it were the tax dollars orange man gave him

RAM is a notoriously volatile industry that goes constant boom and burst cycles

>>

An honest and truthful message that the ADL hates. But just to help your copypasta: despite the Jews coercing witnesses, forging evidence, and appealing it to the supreme court, justice still prevailed. He got lynched because the jews then bribed the outgoing governor to issue a commutation on his conviction to make this child murdering rapist a free man.
>>
>>108993091
This too is a bubble that will pop.
>>
>>108994376
The fact that the bubble was deemed to be too important to be allowed to pop too early doesn't mean it isn't a bubble
OpenAI will need some 2-5 trillion dollars to remain solvent, the whole point of their IPO is to leave investors holding the bag while the bosses get a huge payday

Supply lines plan for the future so if they know there's going to be a shortage, they have to account for that today. What's also crazy is how many GPUs are rotting away in storage because AI companies have bought them up but don't have enough data centers to plug them into. Most of them will become obsolete without ever having been powered on.

>AI was nothing more than cleverbot on steroids
Well they weren't wrong about that part, the chatbot "AI" is a dead end and most researchers have left opengpt because they insist that chatbots will bring ASI.
>>
>>108995098
I agree that they've been facing major diminishing returns but normalfags have a big issue understanding where trends are going. It's obvious if you think about it. All normalfags do is parrot the status quo, so if currently popular AI model sucks at x and y, then AI will suck forever. Child tier logic.
>>
>>108993091
Cope. Local AI is useless and you know it. How many times do nocoders need to be told that if you take the first L out of LLM then they are even more useless than they already are?
Part of the reason we're in a bubble in the first place is because these models cost millions and billions of dollars to even function BY DESIGN. It doesn't matter how much you try to distill or quantize them or whatever, consumer hardware simply cannot compete with massive centralized compute farms. These stupid models are not mere algorithms that you can downscale for weak hardware. They are gargantuous black boxes of floating point numbers that nobody understands and they can't be used without setting money on fire. Whatever optimization you do on them will inevitably degrade performance.
We are many, several breakthroughs away from having even remotely cost effective useful AI. It might never happen too.
>>
>>108993091
He shut down Sora and took OpenAI out of video generation entirely so all that RAM he bought that no one else can have can't be able to be used to generate content for films.
>>
>>108995122
Still costs less than your salary Bub, that's cost effective to me and your boss.
>>
>>108993091
I feel like cornering the market on supplies in a way that hurts everyone, even those outside your market should be against some regulatory rules. Along with giving your product away for free just to kill the competition. Are there no regulatory rules that cover this? Or is AI just not covered because it's so damn new.

People claim anyone whos suspicious of AI is a luddite and they should to back to riding horses instead of driving cars.
Imagine if Henry Ford gave away the first automobile for free, and then bought up all the horse feed so all the horses would starve to death, with the a plan for the future of renting cars at exorbitant prices but only after all the horses were dead and people were addicted to free cars. AI is a huge scam.
>>
>>108995711
Regulatory capture post-FDR and post-Citizens United means that antitrust effectively doesn't exist because megacorps can simply lobby against enforcement
>>
I bet he thinks he's some kind of evil-genius rather than a man fighting against the inevitability of his own downfall.
Giant slop models are not efficient. And the desire for on-site hardware using this stuff won't go away just because it's a bit pricier for a few years. People who truly want it will save for it. Businesses will still buy the hardware. Some simply can't use corporate hosted models due to legal constraints with privacy.
