Came to the same conclusion myself.
For a long time at my job I was conducting tests on Linux test VM, using a vmware NAT adapter to route to it from my host.
And all of a sudden nothing worked. I reached out to my IT helpdesk (huge defense contractor btw) and was told that 1) non-routable IPs would not work because of security issues, and 2) I am not authorized to use Linux because it's not a supported OS
But Windows 11, from the company for which there are documented cases of refusal to acknowledge critical security vulnerabilities, is A-OK because they are a "trusted vendor"
