Newpipe and it's forks have been mogged

Has everything newpipe has + local recommendations, short and music. It's not a webapp either, it's a native jetpack compose app.

It's vibecoded, isn't it
>>
>>109002546
You're vibe coded.
>>
>>109002546
I haven't seen any indication that it is. I don't think llms are capable of making something like this.
>>
>>109002499
I'd like one with a separate backend that does the dirty work, so that my client remains thin and is like 500KB in size, since there is no reason why it shouldn't be that size or smaller.

PipePipe works on my machine.

>>
>>109002499
testing it, I noticed it shows stats and tries to guess what you like, still showing slop after slop after slop, I guess youtube is almost unfixable at this point, gonna keep training it and removing the slop for a while
>>
>still not just using revanced
>>
>>109002645
Except it doesn't. Why do you come to the internet to tell lies?
>>
>>109002645
PipePipe legit fucking sucks.
Any, and I mean ANY application that doesn't support recommendations is automatically shit. It's how you find new content and creators.
>>
>>109002499

No
>>
>>109002748
It recommends you related (and some unrelated) videos, what the fuck are you talking about
>>
looks good.
will give it a try.
we need more yt apps. or rumble. or odysee.

Nothing comes even close to revanced, everything has compromises, niggrpipe is like using 2015 YouTube app, 0 features

Been testing this shit, and sorry, I know you may the "creator," but this doesn’t mog anyone, seriously. Especially in the stability and leanness department.
It crashes on half the videos, and on most shorts/song doesn’t even load, or crashes right at the beginning. It also stutters a lot, even on 480p videos, while with NewPipe and PipePipe, I can load and watch 4K smoothly.
It’s always the same old story of an project ruined by feature creep, where they rush to add every possible feature to """mog""" everyone, forgetting the most important thing, the user experience. And it’s absolute shit now, no matter how polished or nice this bloated turd looks.

Good luck fixing this mess.
>>
recommendation algorithms are great if youre a neet npc low iq loser, I can see the appeal for you guys
>>
>>109002908
Yep, on point. It's the perfect algorithm for the post 2020 youtube era.

>>109002748
don't need it if you already have a good enough subs base to transfer over, plus modern recs on normal youtube are dogshit clickbait, poorly researched video essays and ai slop
>>
>can't play age restricted videos
Thanks but I'm sticking with Revanced
>>
>>109002499
Thanks, Mikee.

My Newpipe can do Bitchute and Rumble and pic relate. Can this Flow app do that? Does it spy, snoop and contain telemetry?

If you aren't trying to avoid the UI, tracking, and recommendation algorithm, use Revanced. It handles background play better than running the website in a browser, eats less battery, and has additional extensions and customizations like SponsorBlock, alternative thumbnails, Return YouTube Dislikes, show shorts in the regular player, and options for which elements appear in your feed or in the player UI.
>>
>>109002499
This app telegraphs your device make and model and UID
>>
>>109002748
I only use it to download stuff, it's even linked with the revanced download option, both just work for me

Wtf does it need to transmit this info in pic related off it has no telemetry?
>>
>>109004145
How do you its being transmitted anywhere? Sounds like you making shit up.
>>
>>109002893
Im not the dev. It seems it's not even 1 years old while newpipe is like a decade old. Newpipe also won't ever port to other platforms while this dev promises to port it eventually.
>>
>>109004221
I'm checking the RethinkDNS real-time pings and logs. So far, it appears to be clean, but, it still remains that needing to know and access device UUID is very sketchy and suspicious.
>>
>>109002499
Does it support danmaku chat like newpipe?
If not, it's literally unusable.
>>
>>109004271
I mean pipepipe
>>
>>109004253
Google and firebase analytics regularly report android version, make and model. It's not unusual. It's only suspicious if you see hardware fingerprints like IMEI being transmitted.
This app is open source so you can go find the analytics code that is sending this
>>
>>109004484
I don't trust it. It's extremely buggy and superfluous. I'm just not gonna use it. Sorry. I know I know. I'm just not tho, okay?
>>
>>109004500
I had a quick look and couldn't find the exact code but they have crash reporting and feedback to the developer options that gather this info. There's probably an option to turn that off somewhere. I'm not too concerned anyway, the codebase looks normal
>>
>>109004539
Yeah. I'm just not that interested. I'll pass. Sorry
>>
>>109002748
>muh recommendations
Yeah because getting shoved in your throat 6 [unrelated shit i don't care], 5 [barely related shit but samey, superficial and useless], 7 [shit i have already seen], 5 [straight up slop], 6 [reaction tier ytman grifters using mr. beast thumbnails] and 4 [unrelated shit from another country, mostly india, using ai translations and/or voiceover] is way more useful than using the search bar, right? Search may be fucked up as well but at least i have some agency over it.
>>
>>109002499
Looks nice. I will probably keep using grayjay mainly because it includes my twitch and odysee feed but it has issues sometimes
>>
Simply put, YouTube is shit. There are other platforms without all the mind rape that's associated with jewTube
>>
>>109002748
You'd probably make the argument that you need ads to know what to buy.

what a shitty site. jannies are trannies.
>>
>>109002645
it works for perfectly for me too but Newpipe only has 360p resolution option. weird. i assumed Pipepipe builds on Newpipe versions so the first to get updated would be Newpipe.
>>
No thanks, I'm happy with BraveNewPipe.
I tried PipePipe and it was awful, I imagine this is about the same.

Too much crap I don't need, and it works worse on top of it.
