With chinkphones you have to do your homework on which bands they support vs. which ones your carrier offers rather than simply walking in and buying one that Justwerks™. It's a crapshoot as to whether they'll support the newest 5G LTEBQ++ HSPA 3.2 Gen E that the American networks are pushing. I admittedly haven't used a chinkphone for a few years, though, so who knows if there are more barriers to entry now.

Americans always say they need [insert cheap option] in the US. But the US market will always destroy them in the end.Just 10% of Americans are now responsible for 50% of consumer spending. The rich dictate the market forcing the market to cater to them, this includes the surrounding infrastructure. You can get the cheap option but its usage get limited. Moped/Kei car is the most economical transport option, but in America they are almost unusable because of the high traffic speed. The infrastructure literally go against these options to make them useless.With so much debuffs stacking against them, even if they arrive in American market, their sales would be low. No one would want to enter a market with budget option if the sales is insufficient because they make money out of their quantity instead of profit margin. And once their sales reach low enough, the law start coming in to completely ban them. This has happened with single home zoning law and car safety law.Cheap android will have the same fate. Right now, we are already seeing social pressure to pivot to iPhone with things like green bubble etc.
