Genuinely, why are you still using Windows?
Do you care at all about the blatant spyware shoved into your OS?

If you really care about privacy and spyware then you shouldn't be online.

Being online isn't an option in the modern world. Life doesn't work without it anymore.

Illogical, if the ISP level spying was working they wouldn't need to waste time and resources putting spyware into Windows OS. Why would the glowniggers need to hack phones and implant spyware if they could get 100% of the intel from the main internet backbone level? See how your childlike response breaks apart with the base level of logic and critical thinking?

>If the situation was hopeless, they wouldn't need to flood us with propaganda
>If you can't overthrow a government with AR-15s they wouldn't want to confiscate them
It's the same thing here
>If they can see every thing you do via ISP level backdoors why would they need to waste time and money making your OS come with root kits and keyloggers?

Like seriously, why would Windows OS need keyloggers natively if all the keys are logged at the fiber backbone?

Software & hardware support, the core reason to use any OS as that is the job an OS is supposed to handle. Linux, unfortunately, isn't quite there yet, especially with support from smaller hardware manufacturers (like my audio interface).
>>
>>109004259
>>109004058
you have no clue how any of this works
there isn't a literal centralized data sink where feds get your data from, they get it from multiple resources, so yes, it does make sense for each respective chain in your internet connection to harvest data independently of eachother
>>
>>109003939
>I have a job.
I don't, but I get it. I learned so much, just from using it many hours and people with less time probably don't want to learn something new, when there is "no need" for it. Coming home from the goyjob, watching goytube, shitposting on 4chan and playing goyple A games on Windows. "It just werks"

But yeah, there are definitely some tricks to learn/find out, but even as a noob there are many beginner friendly distros, if you care about privacy and just a clean, more secure OS.

I don't know if this is Stockholm Syndrome speaking, but I really like Linux, it's such a cool OS. You can do (almost) everything. And you have to remember that basically every AI is trained on all the open source linux code, I literally set up a server with GPT. But I get it... no Kernel Malware Games and no Adobe.

Trvke. Like how can you even be on /g/ without using gnu/linux in ANY form? Bare-metal, VM's, WSL, Docker.

>>
>>109004380
It's not about privacy all the time, it's about security as well, it's about a stable no slop OS. I don't even care that much about privacy, I still think it's important, but Linux and MacOS are just way better than Windows.
>>

GIMP is still many years behind.
>>

Thanks for the sources, anon(s). But I still think that MacOS is better than Windows, I personally use Linux, but MacOS is definitely the better option out of the corporate operating systems.

I’m not sure what other options there are.

Linux is great for servers and embedded applications. I use it for a lot of things, but I hate the type of person who makes it their identity.
>>
>>109004507
Use WSL in Windows for linux if you need things occasionally. Or run Windows as a guest VM in linux.
>>
>>109004507
>I’m not sure what other options there are.
qemu/kvm with the virt-manager UI. Fastest VM, near native speed, you could just spin up a Windows VM, or try out Winboat.

What kind of applications do you even need? Maybe they even work in wine/bottles.
>>
>>109003903
Because I need a desktop OS. This means either Windows or macOS.
Windows works fine and it'scheaper than buying a Mac.
>>
>>109003903
w10 ltsc is just fine + you can turn off everything.
I just want to start computer, install apps that i need and they work i don't have time to play with config files or debate rust troons why everything should be rewritten into Rust. Get rid of Rust troons and Rust in kernel maybe i will think about Linux.
>>
>>109005171
>I just want to start computer, install apps that i need and they work
anon, linux does work like that. config files are optional if you want to rice your apps but the default settings are fine
>>
>>109003903
Its exhausting to have to worry and care about everything all the time. I have it set up how I like, and it just works. If/when I grow out of pc gaming I'll look into other options. But I want it to be something where I can just set it up and have it work. Computer is a tool for doing things, not the thing to do.
>>
>>109005191

For us it's more than that.

I use Windows because it works for me. I also know how to use gpedit.msc, services.msc and regedit.
If it's okay for me to configure Linux for 1 hour then it's also okay for me to configure Windows for 20min.
>>
>>109003903
Genuinely, why do (You) still care about people using Windows?
I thought people using superior alternatives are superior therefore they do not need to think about the inferior OS and it's inferior users as they simply enjoy using their superior OS.
>>
>>109004025
Same. I work as a contractor writing copy, managing Marketo, and compiling analytics. I don't need Windows to do any of those things. All of the software I could possibly need is fully functional in Linux these days. The future is now.

Most importantly, I'm doing it all from an ancient ASUS laptop that predates hardware baked backdooring.

Genuinely, it runs Creative Cloud and Falcosoft MIDI player really well. I’m equally glad people are using Linux because that OS making Microsoft give a shit again.

Certain security software I need to use to authenticate at work only runs on windows or mac. Literally the only reason, all my personal computers run linux.

For now.
While everyone is making a big deal about AI replacing software developers, which isn't actually happening, office drones are being quietly culled.
