Using an equalizer to change how a device sounds diverts its primary function from what was intended by the manufacturer.
And while this is not bad, it shows that what is considered as good sounding is purely subjective.

>>109006217
Sure, but other than listening to a performance live and done by the best possible musicians, everything else will have some form of distortion.
Be it a bee flying, wind blowing, or in the case of digital sound the type of encoding that was used.
Plus everyone's hearing is different so even the perfect sound will not be perceived by many people simply because their hearing organ can't process the sound.

99% of music was never indented to be performed live.

What's the go-to 3.5mm/USB-C dongle right now?
I use Abigail (that meme one from back then, on CX31993) with my laptop, but now I've finally lowered my standards enough to buy a smart(?)phone without a 3.5mm jack.
Are the OP-post and the shopping guide valid?

I'd have a hard time finding non-EU Apple dongle where I live. Knowing their cables build quality (I've had iPod Shuffle 4 and iPad 3), I wouldn't want it for my phone anyway.

Basically, all I want is something cheap with a good enough durability, while not being absolutely crap with the sound. Though, my song library is mostly mp3, so I don't have big standards in the first place.

they're the same driver. Nora's shell is designed that its inner shell handles the flow of sound waves, whereas Fission has switchable onboard filters and swappable nozzles for extra tuning options.

EQ feels a bit like trying to change what was originally created. Every IEM has a certain voice, a signature, a “soul” that the engineers tuned it for. If I don’t like it, I’d rather move on and find the one that naturally gives me what I want, instead of forcing it into something it’s not.

nah..the tuning doesn't make up for its squashed imaging
>>
>>109019401
my biggest gripe was the condensation issue tho, everything else was fine compared to other pos at that price segment
>>
>>109019452
the stock filters were the failure point for me. I then ordered a set of replacement filters and since then, I never had to swap out filters again. Chu and CRA were my first iems. I like that there's a contrast between both sets and they have their own inherent character, soundwise, it really shaped the rest of my journey.
I still like the Chu, it takes bass boost so well
>>
>>109019475
My foray into the iem nignoggery began with the og chu as well. And yes I got moon... DROPPED hard but god damn I would be lying if I said it wasn't worth it like it forces me to read up on many things which includes /iemg/ and anons talking about various pos
I still have my set of chu but the paint is chipped and the filters are likely dead too. It remains as a piece of IEM history now.
>>
>>109019508
I don't know if the sound of them was good enough that you'd want to get replacement filters (they literally don't go out and you won't be replacing them constantly), but I think it's worth it for guaranteed longevity. my paint never chipped, thankfully
>>
>>109019525
Tuning was a bit bright iirc for me at least. The original filters were known to be really thick and if you didn't replace them with equivalent amount of density then that would completely throw off the tuning especially the treble and I experienced that first hand. Did you like buy some off the shelf AliExpress filters or the official ones from moondrop?
>>
>>109019563
they have to be moondrop filters and I checked my ali, ebay and amazon orders just now, I can't recall for the life of me
>>
>>109019633
Hopefully moondrop ones because a single generic filter isn't cutting it
>>
>>109019651
yeah legit or not, I never had to replace a replacement filter, so no complaints.
>>
so who won in the end?

I’ve been away for a long time lads tell me what’s the best modern replacement for the Tin Audio T2s? Those things blow me away with their sound even 6 years later. Some years ago I made the huge mistake of buying the Etymotic ER2XR as an “upgrade” for my t2s but oh boy was that a huge mistake. Those things are a huge scam. So yeah what could I get to replace my beautiful t2s? Budget is $150.
>>
>>109019401
I love seeing sound with my eyes pictographically.
>>
>>109020403
>6 years later
What do you want more of now?
>>
>>109020403
Nothing quite replicated their thin tuning, especially if you aren't blocking ports on them. If that's your jam then that's it really. Hexa might be similar enough.
>>
Can someone explain how many volume and percentage is volume at when i do each swipe on samsung phone? I have to use earbuds daily for many hours and i want to listen it on safe levels, i put the volume up by 3 slides exactly
>>
>>109021374
No way to tell without actually measuring it with the actual music you're listening to. Listen as quiet as possible.
>>
why do i need to suck my iem every day to fix the quietness on the left side. i don't sweat with them, i don't keep them in a box so even if there is any humidity it should evaporate and there is also no earwax on them. is there a permanent fix? they are edc pro if that matters
>>
>>109021410
Do you mean blow on them?
Maybe a port is dirty, remove the cable and clean it properly.
>>
>>109021469
no, i have to suck on the tip that inserts in the ear. the cable and the iems are clean like they just came out of the box and the connection is not loose or dirty
>>
>>109021410
Like all iems they are disposable. You're supposed to treat them like shit and throw them out when they break
>>
>>109021410
Do they become quieter while you're wearing them or during the night? If the former then there's your answer, it's the filter. If the latter it might still be the filter but it's definitely more weird. Just get new pos, that pos isn't even worth its own filters.
>>
>>109021602
during the night and very rarely while wearing. removing the filter doesn't fix the quietness unfortunately

wanted cable iem to listen to some tunes from my phone and occasionally use with player
>got myself wan'er 2 (3.5mm without mic)
>got myself CX31993 MAX97220 dongle dac
shit was crackling from slightest cable movement
sometimes one side wouldn't play at all
cleaned ports, didn't help
read a bit online - seem dac supports and expects microphone
4 Pole-TRRS jacks should work best, so that's why 3 Pole-TRS was acting up
tried with mic'ed IEMs from my brother - worked great, no static no crackling
ok, dac wasn't playing nice with cable
>pre-ordered myself snowksy retro nano from linsoul
looked like decent device, that would solve my crackling problem and be more convenient
preorder was in April, still not even sent out
tired of waiting, deiced just to get myself new mic'ed cable in meantime
got on ali, cables expensive as fuck, almost/more expensive than my IEMs
indeed - new pair of type C wan'er with mic was cheaper that cable I wanted
so got myself one more pair
ffs, never buying phone without 3.5mm ever again
>>
My silver cable(kbear) has turned to a yellowish color, is that just how it goes for silver cables? I love how they look but if they're just going to turn to a nasty yellow over time I'd rather avoid them from now on.

Do grey cables have that problem too?
>>
>>109022267
That's the plastic sheath. And yes that's how it goes. Even transparent IEM shells do that. Should have known about orange techs.
>>
>>109017888
There's no reason to watch him other than to check whether you're an NPC. He doesn't say anything new and there's no reason to agree or disagree with since he will do 180 in the next video anyway.

>>109019359
in case of Chu 1, everyone agrees that it's hugely influential on $20 pagpag shitbuds and their tuning

The cable on the right is a Tripowin Zonie in silver. I've had mine a couple years now and it hasn't change color over time. I own a KBear one like the left pic, but it's all black. Over time, the black cable hasn't caused any issues or gotten stiff or anything.
I suggest getting black instead

Honestly just what the t2’s offer but better I guess? The only thing I would critique about the t2’s is that the vocals could be a little bit more clearer. Sometimes it feels like they get drowned a bit by harsh guitar playing

>>109021246
I’ve heard that the Hexa are great but some YouTuber I saw described their sound to be pretty similar to the Etymotic ER2XR and I got scared about buying them

So I'm considering buying AirPods Pro 3 now because somehow I've never even tried them even once.
1. Is it a good idea at all?
2. I do not own any other Apple products. Will that be a problem with AirPods Pro?
3. Are AirPods Pro 3 any good, especially if you don't own any other Apple products?

People's voices are supposed to be live and yet there is massive distortion and discrepancy when recorded plus no body language
>>
>>109006227
such an asinine, wildly incorrect and overstated thing to say. if anything, the opposite statement is closer to the reality. most of human history, all music was live music. recording technology is only about 150 years old lol.

the overwhelming majority of music created thru history either was performed live or came from a live performance tradition.

Zero 2 but with more sub-bass (and not too much more midbass, but definitely not less)? Simgot EW 300 looks like it might be close, but idk, can I do better? Concerned about the midbass increase as well

Specifically I don't want shit like this to get fucked up and muddy or way too punchy, I just want more rumble for when those really low notes come in, retaining that slight vocal pronunciation, but not too far to the point of some shouty moondrop pos shit.
