This got a kek out of me today.
why is lmms so shit with vst plugins on linux? Nothing works it constantly breaks even on a source build. The only way to run carla is to extract the appimage rm some libs and headers then run it via some mystic LD_PRELOAD. What the fuck.

who takes care of the dmp knowledge base, can one contribute to it
how do i make music digitally
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G39h0uMLlp4even this normie tier EDM youtuber got outboard compressors. these have been completely industry standard for decades yet illiterate zoomer anons are still in denial about it. even when the mixing engineer is ITB, the mixing engineer likely uses an emulation and then the mastering engineer uses some analog version of it like the alan smart which is a clone of the SSL.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w6sdNs58tc
ok im starting my wizard song today
>>109007065>Theme: remixes, remakes, and music based on previous /dmp/ songs.are we remixing our own songs? or others? does it matter?
>>109010373>ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G39h0uMLlp4>compares audio>doesn't match loudnessPhilistine
Same with the other video. Chuzo doesn't know about loudness matching and A/B comparison. Embarrassing.
>>109012377No, it's any /dmp/ songs of your choosing
>>109012862you're embarrassing, you're denying the usefulness of these tools and reaching for lame excuses like the perceived loudness not being matched between A/B comparisons. it's often one of the direct goals to increase perceptual loudness without eating up headroom in addition to sounding good. you're likely one of those practically braindead people who don't experience frisson or you don't experience nearly as much as you should and not in the relevant ways for making great music because you've consistently had shit-tier taste and denied that objectively top tier successful songs sound good and you think industry standard effects like eventide algorithms sound like shit. like he says in the video at 8:25 it feels like a warm hug whereas retarded anons deny that analog warmth is even a thing at all. you're not even a beginner, you've more or less been involved with music production for decades yet you still haven't learned these basic things.
howdy /dmp/ whats everyone working on today?

noodling around morehttps://voca.ro/126ihjs4VS55not sure about the sound but i can hear it as a ending or something >>109019147>Emi definitely need to get a midi keyboard or something i use reapers virtual one and it confuses the fuck out of me sometimes probably part of the reason i stay in familiar keys
>>109019180how the fuck can you get this on youtube? I tried to upload some unlisted family holiday videos and half of them got flagged and blocked for going against their content policy, and it was just people in beachwear
out of boredom and spite towards chuzo i made that midi CC device, i can now send out CC values on all 128 CCnumbers. My old midi controller was slow/unresponsive and sent out alot of fluctuating junk values. this ones super fast, accurate, controls as many as i want and didnt cost me a single cent as I modified something I already built previously.inb4 chuzos cope about special gold plated encoders
>>109023072https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/bourns-inc/EAW0J-C24-AE0128L/3780126this is $10.49 per piece for quantities over 10 so it would be $170 just on encoders if you wanted to make a midi fighter twister clone (i know you already said that's not what you wanted to make) so $300 is not overpriced depending on what type of midi controller you're talking about. it's a niche product like there's hardly any innovation happening with micophones for instance and they charge like 4 grand for a u87.
>>109023299and that doesn't have the feature where you can press on the knob like a button, the twister uses proprietary japanese alps encoders
>>109023072Congrats! Pic? I bought an en16 a couple years ago but recently found myself more comfortable with custom keyboard pd patches for increments/decrements of a few midi cc.
>>109023602hey thanks anon.>I bought an en16had no idea these existed, their stuff is neat>found myself more comfortable with custom keyboard pd patches for increments/decrements of a few midi cc.very nice thats quite similar to what i did actually lol>>109023299>>109023316no chuzo you were right, it was the twist. you knew based off of the price range /description what i was talking about and can use digikey. that tells me you are indeed a sillybilly. yous trollin. no need for $10 encoders. 16 encoders + a micro controller would be like $40 max. no need for LED rings or injection modeled enclosure.
>>109023928ok it doesn't have 128 midi values per turn hardware resolution but it seems like it uses a special 24 pulses per rotation version of alps EC11 push encoder that you can't even buy. a forum user said he got 96 ticks per turn so maybe it has 4 phases or it's using software trickery with 2 phases to interpolate from 48, i don't fucking know. i still kind of doubt that you're getting the equivalent quality with your clone but to be fair you don't need it to be 1 for 1 equivalent to just get something usable. a used twister for like $100 wouldn't be insanely overpriced though. it would take ages to finish a top tier project if you had to pinch every penny on every single thing.
>>109024283>i still kind of doubt that you're getting the equivalent quality with your clone but to be fair you don't need it to be 1 for 1 equivalent to just get something usable.exactly. and as much as ive shit on you over analog emulation and what not I do personally think sometimes it can matter and with deep enough pockets be worth it to get the original hardware. for alot of things im happy with good enough.and yeah at $100 a used twister wouldnt be terrible, but i personally enjoy making things and doing it as cheap as possible as an added challenge. its one of the main motivators for doing electronics projects for me, and gets my dusty ass 3d printer put to use>it would take ages to finish a top tier project if you had to pinch every penny on every single thing.very true, I just wanted something to fill the void my old broken midi controller left and was tired of drawing automation lines in by hand
