>Stremio has been completely free for the last 11 years – and it will always remain free! However, in order to deliver the quality, support and cutting-edge features you’re all used to, we’re launching Stremio Supporters: an optional way for our community to support the long-term development of our product.

https://blog.stremio.com/stremio-supporters-a-way-to-sustain-our-development/

Stremio just fucked up by responding to Nuvio with this.

It's time to forget Stremio the same way people are dropping Plex for Jellyfin.

holy heckarino, not stramio

lots of people use stremio
>>
How much jew media do you consume to need these shit streaming apps? I watch like one movie every 3 months, and the last hing I saw was sw return of the jedi despecialized edition

ngmi
also nuvio better anyways
>>
>>109015590
Nuvio works so much better on android tv, no real reason to use stremio anymore other than on desktop.
>>
>>109015897
what do the japanese have to do with anything
>>
>>109015854
I use it because the interface is sleek and it doesn't require much setup for all the basic things to work out, but the addons are so buggy and break down/become unavailable all the time. I have kodi as a backup, uglier, more painful to use, and addons are usually all broken to the point they don't even run, but when they run they usually at least remain availble.

>>109015875
I generally only watch niche or old stuff. Prior to that I used qbittorrent with sequential + first + last piece downloads, to stream from the torrent. But this just makes it nicer because of combined search, combined torrent index, ability to search other movies by same actor/director/writer, etc.
>>
What is Nuvio? I know what Stremio is already
>>
>>109015590
Eh, I don't use any of those"supporter" features anyway. I use Jellyfin as my serious long term storage solution, and stremio is just for when I want to watch something without having to download.
>>
>>109015590
the only time i touch stremio is when setting up relatives with easy show/movie piracy
"cutting edge features" aren't only the last thing i'd trust them with, but also every time i've installed this shit, i usually have to go back a version cause their latest proper release is always messing up the plugins
>>
Stremio will always be free, and the features that are currently available in the apps will also be free forever

>>109015875
We get it you have no taste.

I think just the same as stremio

nooo. you need to do the dance of getting sucked in by the half naked women on the covers in the catalog.
also, windows media center was the best thing to ever happen to computing.

Bloated webapp.
All you need is a torrent client that lets you watch stuff and allows seeding as well.
>>
>>109015875
It's for boomers.
>>
>>109016871
it's a debrid client
>>
>>109016932
>pay 5 shekels
It can use torrent directly, there is no reason for debrid, just cache the torrent so it doesnt buffer.
>>
>>109015818
How are they better?
>>
>>109015665
spbp
>>
>>109016941
if you were using torrents directly then you just use a torrent client.
so it's a debrid client.
>>
>>109016971
It works great as a torrent client where you get all kinds of useful metadata (things like calendars and lists and shit among others). I use it that way. No way I'm paying to pirate.
>>
>>109016994
i pay for a vpn/proxy to torrent, too
>>
>>109017016
Of course you do. Fucking retard.
>>
>>109016941
Debrid can source from more than just torrents. Even with a PTP account I use it just for convenience and for family. The idea for is to have something that works exactly like streaming services so they don't have to pay for 5 different subscriptions. I hated telling someone to watch some show but Netflix doesn't have it so they can't watch it. Sure someone on /g/ shouldn't need it but it's better than nothing for normies.
>>
>>109015590
uh this is just a supporter tier for basic features you get with extensions anyway, total nothing burger

more worried about what's going on with real-debrid, the RD+Stremio setup was goated 4 easy setup
>>
>>109017016
>>109017065
In many countries you can get in trouble for torrenting copyrighted content. so you can either get a VPN which still causes buffering issues or get a debrid service and have a seamless experience. Seems like an obvious choice.
>>
>>109017344
The subtitle sync is neat and I don't think has an addon but that's pretty niche
>>
>>109015755
I like Kodi as frtontend for Jellyfin.
>>
>>109017364
I don't know any country where that's true. I know many countries where some unscrupulous groups like to saberrattle though.

So what's first world? I've heard even worse in the EU. So much that some streamers there were getting copystriked trolled off platforms.
>>
>>109015590
they noticed retards are paying plex for the privilege of watching their own files
>>

Many western European countries started doing this as well. Its mostly third world countries that don't give a shit.
>>

So I can keep using it for piracy with noa dittional drawbacks, but I wont be able to skip intro. Kino, I will keep using it. Also
>their clients are (at least partially) open source so no reason not to compile without the supporter shit

>>109016971
You can get a list of torrents from multiple sources and see things like their quality, size and number of seeders, then choose tge one you prefer and start watching immediately. Very comfy and near zero drawbacks
>>
>>109015590
I'll happily switch my parents to nuvio if they release it for webOS or at least windows.

It's real, I get letters threatening legal action from copyright lawyers every couple months. They very rarely sue, mostly they just send intimidating letters in order to scare people into paying money to them. The country is Finland, the lawyers apparently work with a German company.
>>
>>109023996
Just use private torrent trackers. No more letters.
>>
TLDR on Nuvio?

>TLDR on Nuvio?
Open-source Stremio with more features for pirates, made by pirates.
>>
>>109015590
Weird they only just brought native Usenet streaming to the Android clients when that feature would have made more sense to paywall than the basic ones here, especially as it's something that Nuvio + AIOStreams (without your own selfhosted Usenet add-on) doesn't have yet
>>
>>109025095
literally doesn't matter. the slippery slope begins.
>>
>>109023996
pussy
>>
>>109025720

>>
Fun fact: if you mention the word "Nuvio" in the Stremio subreddit, they ban you.

Stop asking AI for shit you retard. Nuvio does torrents or filehost. No debrid needed. I never pay and I get 4K streams on Nuvio. God I hate you AI fags. Learn shit on your own.
>>
>>109030063
Yes. It just got that a couple months ago.
>>
>>109030015
Bruh, even in stremio I use free torrent and https stream addons. I don't pay for shit in kodi and iptv and I'm not doing that here.
