has anyone tried sculpt os
i haven't

it kind of looks like a "god object" operating system
>Microscopic's "Translucent Holes":
cant run other oses without user-level software (never going to be as performant)
cant hardware bridge unless you have a second gpu

>PeanutsLinus's "LinusNIX":
same exact shit

>sculptos:
entire thing appears to look like
>lol i can run both of you motherfuckers with native-like performance with just one gpu

therefore
both have their problems
so what if
>sculpt: lol fuck you two, you're both contained to a VM. microscop all you will ever know is that i like to play quake and half life and linusnix all you will ever know is that i like to browse the internet

if anyone has tried it please let me know before i wipe my only hard drive

This is certainly some technology
>>
>>109019027
i personally like the concept of being able to shove translucent holes into a virtual machine and have it be hardware accelerated without needing a second gpu
and then have linusminix running in another vm with the same hardware acceleration without a second gpu
i love this technological discussion on /g/ technology

this thread is obviously being filtered by the entirety of /g/
i wonder what keyword in my OP did it
was it "linus"?
or "gpu"?
or "hard drive"?
or the presence of quotes?
hmmmm

I have tried it once, on real hardware. I just installed vim and played around a bit and then went back to l00nix

Seems pretty neat as a concept

This is a profoundly poorly written thread
I had no idea what you were trying to say with your broken schizo english, but I googled "sculpt OS" since that seemed like the most interesting thing in you post, and it looks like a high-concept virtualization heavy OS for compartmentalizing stuff like Qubes.
Pretty cool, though I'm not sue what the purpose of your thread is

Microscopic's "Translucent Holes" suffers from abhorrent spyware problems and system unreliability as we all know

PeanutLinus's "LinusNIX"/"LinusMINIX" suffers from fragmentation and userland library issues depending on what you want to do with it
^And if you don't like SystemDaemon, that is increasingly becoming THE standard for everything in regard to this operating system

And so I found SculptOS, which appears to give me a solution:
only use these operating systems for what you need to use them for without having to compromise other parts of your computing environment that are unrelated to what you need to use that operating system for

However, I don't want to wipe my only harddrive to do this, because I'm not sure whether or not it's actually true to its word.

Why do you talk like that, are you just autistic?
>>
>>109023069
Did you install vim through a VM or directly on Sculpt?

>I don't want to wipe my only harddrive
You had like two decades to buy a second harddrive before prices became retarded. If you had you could just try it out instead of asking here. Also, don't write shit like
>Microscopic's "Translucent Holes"
in the OP if you want people to actually read the rest of it; nothing wrong with epithets but there are like 150 threads on the catalog and it's like you're trying to skip right off people's attention bandwidth. Just say "microshit wangblowz" if you have to refer to it by an epithet (which is understandable). You would have been much better off with "microsoft sucks, linux sucks too, anyone try sculpt os? It lets you use both without having to be tethered to either since it's a virtualization-focused OS" or something like that.

NOW WE UNDERSTAND IT ALL
LETS TAKE A LOOK:

MICROSCOPIC'S "TRANSLUCENT HOLES" VERSION NUMBER SEVEN VERSUS LINUSVANPELTPEANUT'S "VANPELTLINUMINIATURENIXSYSTEM" VERSION NUMBER TWO POINT FOUR POINT EIGHT-TEENAGERS

THESE OPERATIONAL COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS HAVE THEIR OWN FLAWS
SO WHAT IF WE ACQUIRED THE PRIME FROM THE BOTH OF THEM
THIS IS WHERE WE ENTER

ACT-OF-CREATING-MARBLE-STATUE OS
WHICH APPEARS TO ALLOW US TO ACTIVATE BOTH COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS WITHIN ITSELF
ACCOMPANIED WITH THE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY THAT WOULD BE COMMONLY OBSERVED IF THE INDIVIDUAL COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT WERE TO BE ACTIVATED WITHOUT A.O.C.M.S.O.

I APPRECIATE ANY AND ALL RESPONSE I MAY RECEIVE IN REGARD TO THIS TOPIC

i will be installing sculptos tonight and answering my own question, and any future questions that anyone may ask, because there are zero screenshots or videos or posts on the internet that explicitly demonstrate this in action for the latest version of sculpt os

if i succeed i will post about it in this thread

shit, can i theoretically make it so my VM is just my old system? so i dont have to reconfigure everything?
>>
>>109032640
if the theory is you having two hdds
>>
>>109032640
theoretically yes, you can shrink your OS partition, dump an image of it into a file on a different partition, and then load that image in a VM
practically this probably won't work because your OS will complain about literally all hardware changing underneath it and potentially cannot recover from this, and you'll need a secondary boot medium anyway
