CSfags on suicide watch
Sad but I was a janitor and got into tech by fixing the admin staff's computers until they hired me. These youth need to stop applying and start talking to people.
>>109029045I started unloading 40lb boxes at a warehouse through a temp agency. Next temp job was a datacenter gig and that company hires me full time. Got a few years experience then switched to unix administration (doing what would now be called DevOps but that gay term didn't exist yet)
>>109029045It is weird how young people think it's weird. But realisation probably comes with experience. When they experience nepotism and favoritism, petty tyranny by their managers and other things like that, they will understand that way of life is different from those sterile idealized pictures. Maybe secretaries don't blow their bosses as often as during 90s, due ot calcel culture and such. But nothing changed really. People running enterprises are the most delusional and easy to mislead people one can find on this planet. There is a concept of "body access" in this context. If you can talk to them, you can get them on your side, get promotions, bonuses, whatever. So it's not always easy to just talk to them, but looking for a job is a good excuse.
>>109029023>top 1% poster>what do i doIf you like communication that much, start networking already
>be me>go to school>realize school is fake and gay>drop out>get job>live frugally>be normie>get a "degree">get no job>cry on reddit somewhere along the development path, I diverged
>>109029045This isn't even remotely possible in 2026
>>109029948Why, exactly?I've noticed many youth are incapable of looking other people in the eye or having conversations longer than a tiktok video. Is that why?
Americucks have to pay for that geg, go into lifelong debt even
>>109029380jobs are gay too, THOUGH
>still going into CS in the past 10 years when anyone with half a brain knew it would be the first thing to get outsourced adn/or automatedNobody to blame but himself.
>>109029023nothing that hasn't been happening in the liberal arts since the dawn of the nuclear age
>>109030868>autism rates in zoomers spike during and after covid erai wonder why
>>109031037nobody actually thought that although you can pretend to have with hindsightai came out of nowhere and blindsided everyone. thats why it's been so explosive financially.go back to 2016 and see how many people thought wed have hyper intelligent chatbots 6 years latergo back to 2020 and see how many people thought wed have them two years later
>>109030868I'll attempt to describe the modern-day barriers. Keep in mind they don't exactly make it impossible, just very difficult to overcome relative to what you are proposing. There is so much bureaucracy in the employment process and so many systems which filter out and prevent this kind of spontaneous grassroots hiring and even promotion that you're referring to. Furthermore, many people in key positions in the hiring process don't have the ability to identify talent or even understand the positions they're hiring for (it's mostly stupid women in an HR or girlboss role holding up this process).
