Does anyone actually buy Pixel phones? If you’ve bought a Pixel phone for any reason other than GrapheneOS, you’re an idiot
>>
>>109029167
I bought a pixel 7 and the recent update ballooned the battery and I feel like an idiot because I can't get it repaired in Poojeetland
>>
>>109029167
doesnt it support running normal linux desktop environments with gpu acceleration out of the box? where on most phones its complicated and requires root and setup
>>
>>109029167
I recently bought a 10A. The battery life is crazy. I flashed graphene on it immediately. It's a clean OS with no bloat. It's also not a huge fund which I appreciate. Overall a good purchase.
>>
>>109029167
Yeah first Android phone that feels like competition to iPhones, everything else is for spec jeets.
Almost 2 years of pixel, from 9PXL to 10PXL.
I got the full buds + watch + phone + tv, don't miss anything from Apple, I like it better acktchually.
>>
>>109029167
Pixels are e-waste.

>>109029286

If you bought a pixel for GrapheneOS you're doubly retarded

I was going to. I needed an upgrade from my galaxy 22. But at the price point it seemed to have a less powerful set of internals compared to the galaxy 25 ultra. I also am concerned with both phones trying to lock down side loading apps. And I feel like google directly owning the play store would do so first. I do feel a bit trapped in Samsungs ecosystem with the relative ease of upgrading.

phones are awful. even if you escape to grapheneos more and more apps and features won't work as we fall deeper into the locked down remote attestation hellworld.

>if you use the best operating system ever made, you're retarded

>I also am concerned with both phones trying to lock down side loading apps
this is my concern as well, even though I want to use graphene. Also, Google has taken very specific measures to cripple AOSP and make developing Graphene a nightmare. It's a shame that linux phones are still in alpha
>>

The OG Poojeetland, India, yes I'm a jeet

I wonder if I should get rid of my Pixel 6. GOS has no future.

GrapheneOS is free and open source, just like your mom.

A couple years ago I bought a 4a for DivestOS (RIP) and the piece of shit stopped turning on within like a month and gets hot when plugged in.
>>
>>109030312
what are these comments, did they bot this shit
>>
>>109030340
It's not that Linux phones are still in alpha. It's that you can't convince all the developers of all the open source applications to make them mobile friendly. The market for Linux phones is so small and it's a niche within a niche that the effort would be largely wasted.
>>
>>109030317
With Samsung you can't even use a custom rom because of their proprietary IMS

This. GrapheneOS is the only reason to buy a Pixel.
If you're a retarded sheepbrained normal cattle NPC who doesn't care about giving every minute detail about their lives to big tech, there are much better options than a Pixel. Options with better cameras, better processors, more ram, better screens.

Privacy chads are willing to sacrifice for the benefit of keeping big tech from looking over their shoulders.

Unfortunately I was an early adopter of the 6 Pro. Everything about it was great, except the battery life was complete dogshit. I think I only ever got 5-6.5hr SOT out of it, maybe 7.5hr on a good day. That's what I get for being an early adopter but I'll probably never go back to Pixel unless they completely swap Tensor for something else (they won't).
>>
>>109030672
the moment they drop tensor some so snapjeet i'm out, i don't want none o dat jittery shit
>>

>>

5200 mAh battery and I still have to charge it daily like my older phones.
>>
>>109030855

>>
>>109030652
Well, Google won't take in my device for a mail-in repair because swollen batteries are scary to ship, and the authorised repair centre is in another city and the support specialist basically said sucks for you, AND no repair shop in my city has the OEM battery
>>
Only bought it for GrapheneOS. The hardware is shit
>>
>>109029286
Move to one of the colonies like Canada or UK bro. They have everything here.
>>
>>109030476
I got the phone used, it didn't have much ram, the side button was sticking it was overheating. And it didn't have enough ram so background apps wouldn't run. I only update every few years when I need to. From 10+ to the 22 and now the 25. But yeah sure.
>>
Atrocious battery life if you're not connected to wifi. Tensor is shit
>>
>Uses Tenshit SoC, which is based on Eshitnos
Lmao no thanks, I will never buy them as long as they keep using this PoS. Fucking Google had the audacity to price their phone in the same league of Apple and Samsung when they are basically 2-3 generations behind.

I'm a jeet and I bought it because I was spoiled by Motorola's early clean android experience and was I exhausted by chink UIs, I considered samsung for while but there's just something about the UI that didn't feel right, it was too much, but now that Google has officially told me to fuck off I'll probably go for Ishitphone or Samdung and bear with the ecosystem

I bought the 10 Pro XL because I was locked into a dogshit SIM only deal and with the offers on it doing the early upgrade worked out cheaper than staying on the SIM only plan. The browser lags and needs to be restarted every so often in a way it never did on my old cheapo Motorola, but I did end up installing Graphene when the British government announced they were going to force Google and Apple to roll out spyware on all devices here, so it's not a total waste.

Pixels are the only phones that guarantee a hassle-free bootloader unlocking experience that im aware of. Im not buying a phone unless I can root it.

Obvious bait thread is obvious. I have a pixel because it's literally the only android phone that isn't infested with garbage. I don't want facebook on my phone. I don't want random samshit bloatware.

>b-b-but botnet.
Mate I don't give a fuck. I want a phone that makes phone calls, takes texts, lets me view my outlook account for work, and occasionally take pictures of my critters. Pixels are among the best cameras available, are reasonably priced, have authorized repair with genuine parts if you damage something.

>graphene
Tried it. Too much hassle. Graphene's devs don't seem to understand that I care more about functionality than privacy. For the longest time they wouldn't even let you do call recording. Apparently that's fixed now, but it was still a mess of incompatibilities and issues the last time I looked. So fuck it. Botnet it is. I'm mostly away from google in my day to day life, but their phone is the damn near the only thing outside of the apple ecosystem that actually fucking works.

Well, grapheneOS must have no future and sucks. The hardware has backdoors, and everyone had lots of proof. I'm sorry, I give up, I'm buying a Samsung phone and signing in with my Google account.

Oh wait, actually, it would be nonsensical for AOSP to go completely closed source (and irrelevant), grapheneOS has repeatedly tackled Google's hurdles, grapheneOS is getting Motorola phones to ship with grapheneOS preinstalled, grapheneOS will allow hassle free sideloading, most open source apps are 1000x better than Google play slop, and the only proprietary app anyone needs is their banking app.

GrapheneOS has a good future, and feds spam these threads in an attempt to make it sound like there's no hope. The more people who make active use of this project and donate to it, the more of a fighting chance it has. GrapheneOS is the ONLY future for a free, secure, and private future for phones.

Donate to the grapheneOS project if you're actually concerned. Switching to samsung/itoddler/chink spyware phones won't save anyone.

This camera bump on the back is actually pretty nice, it makes holding the phone very easy
Just hangs off my index finger basically
>>
some pathetic fbinigger hacked my gopro to lose 40% battery in 15 minutes so i have to use my grapheneos as a body cam. keep in mind that i deliberately went out of my way to download a signed gopro firmware update to a microsd card so i wouldn’t have to connect it to wifi or bluetooth and yet it still got hacked like wtf.

Presumably not stellar. It's kind of funny to invoke Stallman while arguing in favour of anything Google anyway. He doesn't even endorse Debian just because it has the option to enable the non-free repos so you can imagine how he would feel about GrapheneOS.

Identical user experience to stock android outside of banking apps being awkward sometimes once you've got everything set up. Whether that remains the case as Google continues to fuck with their ability to sandbox google play services remains the be seen.

>and the recent update ballooned the battery
How does a software update cause the battery to inflate? Are you sure that wouldn't have happened anyway?
