Are these battery driven soldering irons a meme? I just need to solder like 2-4 things on one board. Do they really get up to temp?
>>
>>109032401
they'll get to temp but they're fucking retarded ergonomics wise
just get a usb-c/barrel plug soldering iron and a 65w powerbank/lipo
or a pinecil i guess
>>
>>109032401
depends
ok
yes

I'd be more inclined to go with a pinecil with a separate battery bank if you want it portable. Never used that style but it looks really topheavy.
Of course, you could just get the cheapest plug-in chinkshit iron if you only need it as a one-off. Not great but it'll get the job done.

Yes you need more potential lithium bombs that wont be charged when you need them because you will store it and use it once a year, don't forget your power bank battery too

Yes. These are annoying. The battery will make the thing topheavy and unwieldy. Better options include:
>digital temp control pencil iron plus a power bank - somewhat expensive but it's compact and portable, with good temperature control
>traditional corded soldering station - heavy transformer base with temperature control connected to a pencil iron that goes with it, can be had cheaper, and still top tier
>plug-in pencil iron - no temperature control but gets the job done most of the time, and these things are like $10
>butane soldering iron - if you absolutely need cordless... Lighter and more compact than even a plug in pencil iron, has temperature control but it's rather poor, heats up super fast though, refuels in seconds, and doubles as a small blowtorch if you swap the tip

Dunno, but I have their 200W soldering station and it works great.
