Are these battery driven soldering irons a meme? I just need to solder like 2-4 things on one board. Do they really get up to temp?
>>109032401they'll get to temp but they're fucking retarded ergonomics wisejust get a usb-c/barrel plug soldering iron and a 65w powerbank/lipoor a pinecil i guess
>>109032401dependsokyes
>>109032401I'd be more inclined to go with a pinecil with a separate battery bank if you want it portable. Never used that style but it looks really topheavy.Of course, you could just get the cheapest plug-in chinkshit iron if you only need it as a one-off. Not great but it'll get the job done.
>>109032401Yes you need more potential lithium bombs that wont be charged when you need them because you will store it and use it once a year, don't forget your power bank battery too
>>109032401Yes. These are annoying. The battery will make the thing topheavy and unwieldy. Better options include:>digital temp control pencil iron plus a power bank - somewhat expensive but it's compact and portable, with good temperature control>traditional corded soldering station - heavy transformer base with temperature control connected to a pencil iron that goes with it, can be had cheaper, and still top tier>plug-in pencil iron - no temperature control but gets the job done most of the time, and these things are like $10>butane soldering iron - if you absolutely need cordless... Lighter and more compact than even a plug in pencil iron, has temperature control but it's rather poor, heats up super fast though, refuels in seconds, and doubles as a small blowtorch if you swap the tip
>>109032401Dunno, but I have their 200W soldering station and it works great.
Let me guess, you need moar?
>>109033147no, I need less
I got a TS101 and it works for stupid simple shit
>>109032401I do all my soldering in the wilderness with no electricity.
