For coders and tech gods of /g/, what is the sweet spot for having 2-3 monitor setups for coding, anime, or configuring your arch linux install scripts? And at what is a sweet spot resolution if you're not going to be gaming on it?
>>
32" 4k is pretty much max that fits conveniently on a desktop
140ppi is enough
4k is easy to run thanks to dlss
>>
55" 4k is the minimum resolution and starting size
optimal is probably 75" 8k
of course you have to mount it on a wall and stand a bit away from it to use it
which is what I do

How do you deal with the text looking strange? (Maybe due to anti-aliasing.)
I have a TV I use for PC gaming (55" 4K, just like you said) and it's good for that, but when I try to read text on it it is somehow "unreadable" even though the font is a fine size. I can do it of course, but my reading speed is reduced by a lot versus on my laptop.
>>
entirely depends on your eyesight and preferences
>>
Used to have a couple 21:9 curved 34"s, but somehow IPS is more expensive than they were 8 years ago now, so boughted 3 27" IPS, two of them are vertical, one horizontal, pretty comfy. But I write code, so it's convenient to have editor full screen on a vertical monitor.

I bought a 27" 4k and it's too big. Should have got a 24" 1440p

This desu. 23-25 is the sweet spot but because the industry has to live off normalfags who can barely figure out the mutliplication table you'll find next to no good monitors this size
>>
Try to stay around 100 DPI, if your monitor is in arms reach. So 1440p is good with 27".

I have a 1440p 27" monitor and I wish I had denser PPI when I work with text. For gayims it's totally fine though.

i have dual 27'' 4k
it is comfy

42" 4k 120hz, two arm lengths away. My eyes are unbothered, happy, and flourishing. Game machine: 32" 4k 240hz just over 1 arm away.

The truth is that both monitor size and resolution depend on viewing distance, so it will very much so vary based on your physical setup. If your viewing distance is around 65cm (2') or only a little bigger I would suggest 27" 4k monitors. It's close enough for you to actually notice the increased resolution and at 27" the screens look large but not so huge to the point where it doesn't fit in your field of view.

If your viewing distance is significantly above ~65cm you will want physically larger monitors, if it's significantly below you may want to drop to something like 24" or even less.

This is bad advice, 100DPI at that kind of viewing distance will have visibly poor image quality compared to higher resolutions. We can get a lot better nowadays, it's not 1998 anymore.

what?
>>
>>109037699
Yes. Audio and Video is *trans*mitted to you in real time, doesn't get more trans than that.

I got 3x PA278CGV and it feels perfect.

23" is my sweet spot. I tried using a 27" for a couple of years before downsizing back to 23"

For serious stuff consider the non wide ones. You might be satisfied with just two.
I used to have such a setup, but do not remember exact size. Something like 27, but not wide, idk.

You don't need any vertial monitor orientation memes when your monitor is tall already. Having more than one wide 27 inch or bigger screens is just stupid. They're too wide, it does nothing for performance.
With two square monitors you turn your head like 5° to switch between them. With wide screen ones it's more like 30-35°, way too much and you can't sit like that with your neck in tension for long.

24.5-25 1440p is probably ok, but 23 1080p unironically is the golden standard. Cap it at 60Hz and it also consumes like 20W power. Monitor technology went in a weird direction with this 4k nonsense. I blame applefags.
>>
>multiple
We're now into the age of large single monitor setups that give far more space than multi-monitor setups. Coming next are extremely large single monitors, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go back to fucking bezels for the sake of full screen programs.
>>
27in, 32in is too big if you're sitting at a desk.
