About to turn 30 and haven’t progressed in my career much. Been stuck in the 80s salary range for years and I’m tired of this shit. My work is basic IT, nothing beyond following pdf procedures or requiring much knowledge technically. Hell you don’t even need to know the OSI model or any kind of networking or cli type shit. So I have been looking at options and I’m thinking of either going all in for networking/cybersecurity or maybe learning to code. I know I’m hella late and with AI taking over everything idk what direction to go. My current job is also unstable lately so idk how much longer I will be employed for. In b4 learn a trade
>>109034925maybe stop wasting your time watching shitty anime
>>109034925they write average is 76k you are set
>>109034925>codetransYou’re fucked lol
These jobs don't even exist anymore for Gen Z. You're lucky a jeet getting paid <60k hasn't replaced you already. 80k is already well above the median wage, so you're not even close to poor, ofc.
>>109034925Keep learning, network with worthy people that can bring you up, and stay away from problem children.
The best time to get out of IT was immediately after you started. The second best time is now. You’d be better off in literally any other tech/computing role.
if u want to get good money from coding you don't "learn to code", you become an engineer who knows how to code and its a lot of fucking work.If you want to strive for something that is a wonderful thing but don't expect quick results or to be able to do it without a lot of practice and education.
>I'm hella lateUnderstatement of the century. How long have you been working basic IT shit? How many different places?
>>109034925code is a no go imohow good will coding models be in the next few years? ten years? not really something you want to build a career around at his point imo
