WTF?
>>109038717>needs an LLM to rename a symbolare vibe sloppers really like this?
>>109038717you deserve it.RETVRN to VSCodium.
>>109038743It has like 50 instances retard
>>109038743Thats the thing - I dont need LLM but github copilot somehow hijacked the f2 shortcut
>>109038795you're the one who chose to use microsoft's proprietary version of vs code with copilot baked into everything.
>>109038795>>109038915even if you use regular vscode, you should disable all that slop:https://gist.github.com/rpavlik/95d6c40d8407805e2c20bdf6d9efa44e
>>109038785>Anon doesn't know how to find/replace This is legit one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen on /g/
>>109038937You don't need any of that. There's a master kill switch available in the command palette.CTRL+SHIFT+P -> "Hide Copilot"Depending on your version you may need to search for "Hide AI Chat features" or similar instead, since MS rebranded a lot of these commands when they started allowing other LLMs to be plugged in.Contrary to the command's name 'Hide' it is actually a true master kill switch which fully disables the entire AI integration. If you want to re-enable the AI features again at a later date (seriously; why? if you really need agentic shit - just using something like Claude CLI...) you may need to re-enroll for the "GitHub Copilot features"
>>109038717LMAOing at your software choices.
>>109038785....and? most LSPs have rename/refactor symbol support.

>>109039060python extensions are notoriously difficult to get working in codium. I can't use codium for this reason alone
>>109039082good morning sir
>>109038717Oh now I get it!They want to replace basic features with "AI" so they can make you pay a subscription for find/replace. Now it makes sense why there's so much money going around something worthless. It's a front to further make everything a subscription.
>>109039142>Get the bundle - F2, Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Alt+up/down. Only 3.99!(paid annually)
>>109038785literally this simpleholy fuck you're retardedim so glad i'll never be replaced by dipshits like you who literally can't make simple edits without LLMs
>>109039267KEKnotepad.exe subscription incoming
Haha, you're too shit to edit a piece of code to remove symbol what a dick head you are hahaha.
>>109038717>vscodium (electron)>vscode (non-free)anon, I have nothing to say... why are you doing this to yourself?..
>>109038717>>109038785AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAverage "vibegod" moment, runs out of tokens and can't even rename a symbol. We used to do that with "sed" before LSP servers came along.Oh my god do the AI companies love this though, you'll be their bitch for the rest of your life. Embrace the snailcat or remain an impotent token-dependent prooompter.
Lmao. We found their one weakness. Is coding now pay to win?
>>109038717Lol.
>>109038717>>109038785
>>109038717LMAO! meanwhile, normal IDE's just work

>>109038956why should I use find and replace when there is a native and faster feature in VS Code?

>>109038717>there are 50 instances nooooregex search and replace?or just do it yourself>wont let mewhat?i do vibecode too but this is just shameful
>>109043213F2 is a shortcut in VS code that was there before copilot even existed. It turned out I can still use it but I have to completely block Copilot else i cant use F2.Clear?
>>109043304you should've phrased it more clearly it seemsthe way you put it sounded like you are an absolute retard who cant do no shit without ai lol
>>109039082Just don't update it once it is working.
> vscoders can't into grep and rgmany such cases
>>109043304You should pay for what you use retard.
>>109038785Even notepad++ can do "replace all on all opened documents" which would be the equivalent of global replace. Just have all files opened. You can either find all occurences and visually replace or just do it without prompting. Basically like in Vim, but without learning curve related to vim's argc/find buffer. I've just found out that notepad++ can open a folder as workspace with a plugin. VS Code users are literal niggers. Just use notepad++ if you can't use Vim/Emacs. It's actually quite useful non-shit editor. Configuring Vim on Windows sucks, so it's not bad alternative while being forced to use Windows.
>>109038785>It has like 50 instancesmust be a troll. no one can be this stupid and successfully send a post.>retardoh, he signed it.
>>109044160>of global replacebut that's not what "replace symbol" does, it tries to walk the symbol table and syntax tree to figure out which instances of a pattern are the same symbol and which aren't. works really well in some languages like Python and is an absolute mess in others like C++
>>109045364>>109044160have to mention that it doesn't require an LLM of course, just an LSP
>>109043163Because it doesn't require tokens.

I think ai is the fakest and gayest thing since $30,000 monkey pictures, but this thread has to be a false flag.
