nobody ever talks about mouse pointer colors, but you're seriously missing out if you're not using a red cursor. does anyone know why we went from red cursors to white ones? older operating systems like IRIX used red cursors, and I imagine there was some reasoning behind it. like efficiency.

>>109049994this is the greatest cursor in history of computing. I've used it for 20 years.Whenever I install the OS, I update the cursor immediately.
>>109049994I've used yellow. It didn't help much.
>>109050063wtf were they thinking?
>>109050064ironically this has the same problem that crosshairs in rifle scopes do, which is that they inherently obscure the most precise point. that's why traditional crosshairs are basically not used anywhere anymore>tl;dr your idea sucks
>>109049994No, no. Why a tiny pointer? Why not a full screen horizontal and vertical thin line crossing at the position?
how about Wacraft 2 cursor?
>>109049994I use a beeg red cursor jta a game changer
>>109049994It probably did not make that much of a difference back when screen resolutions were lower so the cursor was a lot bigger than it is now. I imagine a red cursor could actually help quite a lot now. Especially as I have gotten older. Its disturbing how I loose the cursor often now. I finally understand why cursor trails are a feature.
