Come home white woman. It's never too late to become a lesbian.

Debian means "to reverse the two" with the ending "an".
As such Debian is not lesbian.

I already found home at NixOS. It's more stable, rolling release and less brown.

I'm not a woman, unfortunately. I just didn't get lucky at birth for it.

You can be a woman, all you need to do is install Debian.

It sounds like a very stable OS where you have to "boot the previous nixOS generation and pin the problematic package and build again" every time an update randomly breaks your system for no reason. I'm sure that's a very valuable use of your time.

Or, you can make all your packages stable and update some of them closer to bleeding edge whenever you want. Nix gives you the power to choose. Debian forces you to keep everything old.
>>
>>109055008
Cool for you
But I don't think about that. I just run apt update, in fact I have my system configured to auto update overnight with unattended-upgrades.
>>
>>109054772
That's not stability. That's manageability.
>>
>>109055008
You can just install software from source, or use a container. You can even use nix on Debian.
>>
I use debian on an old machine that only shit posts and is used for math simulations. It also hosts a 10tb drive of retro games, just incase.

She has only done positive things so far. Nothing materially bad.
This great distro... it will endure. Debian will survive!

NixOS is an overcomplicated solution for a problem that you probably don't have in the first place.
>>
>>109055008

False.
1) Backports exist.
2) As others already said, you can compile from source anyway and make your own packages.

Most users of updooter distros never wondered what /usr/local and /opt are for.

Sans yt-dlp, I see no usecase in having the latest packages
>>
>>109063338
yt-dlp is a disingenuous counterexample used by updooters.

You have to update it all the time (albeit not as often as it once was) because it targets an extremely unstable remote service, not because updates fix bugs inherent to the software itself or add new features.

If your software doesn't have such an unstable dependency, older versions will work just fine for years, which is indeed the case most of the time.
>>
>>109063338
>>109064329
couldn't you just get it through pip anyways? seems like an easier option

She actually has not done one single thing since getting elected. She's been completely silent on the mailing lists. She's basically disappeared.

This is a good thing and hopefully she just continues to fuck off because she's a useless fat retard who's completely out of her league. Ideally she does nothing during her term and it will just be like Debian skipped a year of DPL.
>>
>>109051303
I'm 13 years using debian now and any time i try another distro it just feels tiresome and pointless. If the jeeta ruins this project I think I'll just have to put computing as a hobby out to pasture and move on
