Is wireless hdmi a thing yet or is it still laggy useless shit?
>>109056541Laggy but works.
>>109056541use case?
>>109056567wires bad
My mate would love this. He'd rather use wifi on the ps5 that is like a meter away from the router. He says he doesn't like extra wires and says wifi is what everyone uses now.
>>109056563what is the latency for this? I wouldn't do it for gaming but would love it for my PC to TV across the room
>>109056541Better to use a HDMI over IP converter box and a set of powerline adaptors
>>109056680I have no idea about those. Ive used a homemade hardware to HDMI over IP using wifi on a LAN, which is most likely the same as that or others, and its like a quarter second behind and the resolution is a big determining factor. Its good enough for many use cases by I wouldnt video game/entertain guests on a big tv with it.
>>109056626pour coffee in his PS5
>>109059546kek
>>109056541won't work on anything past 720p. i got some 4K wireless hdmi and it was about 1 frame per second. the chinks on amazon tried to bribe me after i left a bad review, kek.
>>109056626Have you told him how superior wire is compared to wireless?
>>109056541That couldn't possibly look more ChineseLiterally just use WiFi
>>109056541We used to have wireless video in the 1990's that required no PC or drivers and was compatible with every TV set commercially available.
>>109056626Disable WiFi on his router and tell him you'll "fix it" if he pays you.
>>109056626rape him
>>109056541why would you use that instead of streaming over network?
>>109059605this is false. I don't know about PS5 but many TVs have Ethernet port capped at 100 mbps. So it isn't necessarily superior
>>109060310Yeah, and it was also at like 576p resolutionIf all you want is a 576p wireless video you can do that today as well
>>109061216I cant think of a single thing a gaming console does that 100mbps isnt enough for100mbps used to host an entire counties worth of dialup and broadband customers just a few decades ago
Why can't wireless handle 2 GBps? Can't we have some low power utra wideband thingamajig?
>>109061436maybe it isn't that important for a console, but for a tv it's way too low to do streaming of decent quality
