When I used to hire people, I would try an be non racist and hire western Europeans and Americans (we were remote), but I just couldn't fucking afford. One time I was interviewing an American chick for frontend HTML/CSS position, she said she was fresh out of bootcamp and she wanted like 20k month. Another time I interviewed a french guy who wanted 25k EUR a month. Motherfuckers, I'm not even kidding, 10 years ago was another planet. I am Easter European.

These days all of them will also be working 10 jobs, but back in the day there was some discipline and dignity.

Also, I don't get the current trend for nepotism, I would never hire someone I know or someone who was recommended by a team member. I mean, every time I did it was a problem, so best hires were always people who just sent their resumes and passed my 20 minute interview.
