Using "fluidsynth -a pulseaudio /usr/share/sounds/sf2/default-GM.sf2" I can make midi work in Wine-started games.
However, when I put that same command in a simple shell script, it doesn't work anymore (the game works but midi don't). Why?

It would be additive as much as 6dB per source. In practice similar noise sources partially cancel each other, so it's really like +1-2dB per additional source if you have an array of the same fans on the front of your case or something like that.

Most professional types would just put it in a cardboard envelope with some bubble wrap. Maybe not even cardboard.

Basically the progression is envelope, soft bubblewrap envelope, hard bubblewrap envelope, cardboard box with min 2" padding on each side, then double boxed with 2" padding in each box. Basic brown 32 ECT shipping boxes are all you need.

It's probably not going to apply here because it's too late, but might help in the future. This is genuinely the reason I don't throw the packaging from things away. Apart from it helping the value so you get more for the item, they're generally the perfect thing to ship them in because that's what they were shipped in originally. Sometimes you will have to add more packing depending on what it is, but if you have the space I always tell people to keep the packaging if they can.

I actually have a similar issue myself with something I want to sell, but packing them will be an absolute chore so I haven't even tried yet. No packaging this time because I bought them from someone.

Do bluetooth earbuds cause headaches?
I've been getting almost unmistakable headaches as of late, and I tend to use bluetooth earbuds pretty frequently, so I've been considering just switching back to wired or stopping the use of earbuds almost all together unless I'm in public or whatever.

Basically. Am I being schizo, or are the bluetoothfrequencies actually giving me headaches?

For two days now some sites return a connection error message. Desuarchive, some manga sites like Weebcentral, Comix connects but has images loading forever, some raw manga sites like dl-raw.ac, Greasyfork, and pawchive (this is one was working just last night). These are just the ones I could find.
I changed browsers and reset my router and it did nothing. They don't work on mobile as well but I used mobile data and they worked. I used my phone on two other wifis outside, one worked and the other didn't. I thought it was my laptop but I don't think this is the case.

Just install the AppImage from
https://imagemagick.org/download/
There isn't a flatpak available, so you can't get it through the Discover app.
Instead, download the AppImage, save it to a place like ~/.local/bin or ~/AppImages, then create a desktop entry to have a shortcut to open it.
If that sounds confusing or like too much work, you can install an AppImage manager from flathub through the Discover app:
https://flathub.org/en/apps/it.mijorus.gearlever
Then just download the AppImage and drag-and-drop it into here to organize it.
Disclaimer: I don't have a Steam deck, but do I use an immutable distro
>>
>>109070479
Edit: I didn't realize ImageMagick was a CLI application; I assumed it was GUI.
You would skip the desktop entry stuff. All that matters is getting it on the PATH.
~/.local/bin is usually on the PATH by default, so installing it there is a good idea.
But you can also try putting it anywhere: IDK if ImageMagick will ensure the PATH is correct when you run it the first time.
If it doesn't, well:
You can see what is on the PATH by executing: echo $PATH
You could also create a directory like ~/AppImages and put it on the PATH by modifying your ~/.bashrc file to include export PATH="~/AppImages:$PATH"
Also, forgot to mention this, but if it won't run, make sure the AppImage is executable by using chmod +x path/to/imagemagick.appimage

i have a class with a member that should be able to contain any type of data, i thought about implementing it with templates, however i also need all the different instantiations of this class to be held in a vector (i dont mind if i have to use other data structures though) and all these objects may have different template types

is there a way to achieve this? initially i thought about making the member in question a void* and cast as i needed, but i'd like to keep the chance of errors as low as possible
>>
>>109070036
No. That's a scheduling failure on the client's part. Running multiple instances just outsources ensuring fair access to network, disk, ... whatever your client is doing wrong to the kernel. Multiprocessing is for isolation not performance.

Type erasure techniques perhaps. std::varient, some other tagged union, or sum type (such as rust's enums) are often used with them. Depends on the variety of types and their sizes I guess
OOP code often uses code erasure too, though it imposes other constraints.

I have a sparkle power fsp220-50fgbbi(m) that I bought second hand and I need replacement cables, ideally a full set. I contacted the sparkle power support number and was told that I would have to go to the retailer I bought the psu from. I can't seem to find replacement cables anywhere. It seems like modDIY sells custome made cables but $80 seems way too steep a price to pay for something that can just be shipped out from the manufacturer. Is there anybody that has had experience with getting OEM cables from manufacturers? Can anybody tell me if digikey will sell me a set by itself? I just need a cost effective flex-atx psu at this point and it seems like second hand market got fucked too.

This custom css should fix it?
body {

4chanX sets a specific font-size (10pt) rather than using rem units so it'll ignore the user's default font size and base it only off of the (css) resolution instead

There are extensions to force font sizes per site too, of course

depends on what scripts you use
like i'm using 4chan XT, so the script itself is setting the font-size on the quick reply box, so it's not being inherited by body like in your previous example so you have to specifically override it.

right-click the textarea inside the quick reply and click inspect
here the textarea's class is .field so that is your selector
on the right you see it's specifically declaring a font size, and the source is inline, so it's being set by the script itself, which likely means you need to use !important to override it

you can click on the value on the right and edit directly just to test it out first if you want

so as to match the previous CSS
.field {font: 100% sans-serif !important}

my pc is pretty old and recently i reformatted and installed win10 ltsc - i had to flash my bios to do that, on a asrock p67 pro3, a very old board
for around 2-3 weeks everything's been fine, but yesterday i woke the pc up and it woke up and nothing happened, the screens remained dark. so i reset it and nothing. after a while i noticed a "CLR CMOS" button was glowing red at tthe back of my pc(near the ps/2 input), so i pressed it and the PC booted normally

today, i woke up the pc to experience the same exact thing - monitors don't wake up, nothing is happening. i reset the PC, the "CLR CMOS" button lights up, i press it, the pc starts normally.
what could be the cause? after the reset it's working like normal, even better than before the format i'd say, more stable.

Are they inears? If so the earbuds could be giving you headaches, but not because of the bluetooth.
If you feel like the pressure difference when you're wearing them is quite noticeable, it's likely it's messing up with your cochlea (the little organ in your ear that basically works like a gyroscope sensor) enough to give you headaches after a long session. Can also happen if you are listening to them too loudly.
Some people also get headaches from using active noise cancellation without listening to anything for too long as well. Something to do with sensory deprivation apparently, though I've never had this sort of issue with neither earbuds nor 3M foam earplugs that block noise like a motherfucker (the sort that people wear when working with machinery all day).

I failed a project once since my project wasn't based off of the class notes but from programming that was unrelated to what I learned in class yet the program was functional and presentable. My class notes don't even answer my specific issues when I'm building a project they're so useless.

It's not for the comments per se. It's so I can find someone who has given relevant timestamps instead of whoever making it waffling on for 10 minutes in between and not making chapters.
It's also because of the genius decision to get rid of dislikes that I like to know if I'm going to waste the next 15 minutes or if I should find a video that's worthwhile.

What's the budget and required storage space?
>safeguard
Does that imply a RAID setup?
If you end up having 3 or more drives, RAID 5 would be the most cost effective RAID possible. But it will only tolerate one failed drive so RAID 6 would be recommended over it.

How do you convert a dish? Take the so called collector out and replace it with an appropriate antenna? ("collector" is basically just a directional antenna in itself, the dish just adds to it)

Is there some Firefox app or something that would allow me to customize the names of the pictures I upload without renaming them on my PC?

Basically I have a bunch of autistic tags on my pics and I only want to leave the character name and source. But renaming the pic, uploading it and then renaming it back is annoying.

i know that feel but i've gotten used to rightclicking the file i wanna post on 4chan, open with image editor, copying the filename and rename, leave image editor open to rename back after i've uploaded to 4chan

that said i've heard that "4chan X" allows you to enter a custom filename of the file you want to post.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor
32 GB RAM DDR 4 (Corsair and Ballista)
B550 Phantom Gaming 4
PSU something something 550 W Bronze (I think)

I think my computer is dying, its like 6-8 year old at this point but I cant pinpoint the exact piece but I think it might be the motherboard.

Since a couple of months ago sometimes all my usb pc peripherals would randomly die and wouldnt work until I restarted my computer, my pc would also turn off sometimes whenever I would stand up from my chair, that one was also very weird but it might be me pushing the cable.

This was until last night when my pc would start straight up crashing if I played an intensive game for a couple of minutes. At first I thought it might be a cpu and gpu issue but I am checking temps right now and they seem fine, even before 1 second before crashing. (Random trivia, my GPU for the last couple of years had the fans blow intensively heavy, even on desktop rest but since last week it has magically stopped so thats why I thought the fans just died or something)

Since I am ruling CPU and GPU out I thought it was my PSU, since I cant also turn on my pc until I disconnect and reconnect the cable, which is weird and would explain the abrupt crashes, I thought it might even be the cable but some googling say it might be my motherboard not being able to handle and supplying power and frankly I never had one good fucking experience with my shitty motherboard. I remember way back when I bought it I had to manually update the bios otherwise a shit ton of games would crash and from what I am reading online this is just a bad motherboard with tons of issues. I dont remember my PSU brand but it was pretty good and bronze certificated.

Issue is I dont have the spare pieces to test nor I wanna test luck more by randomly crashing my pc and bricking actually important parts. My god I think I will need to bring my pc to a fucking pc store for maintenance aaaaaah

I've been living in the Himalayas for many years and only just returned, unironically.
Much of what has transpired over these last 7 years was expected or understandable, some things howeverI just don't get.

Self serve checkouts. People seem to just steal things from them, i suspect they aren't actually cheap and businesses with free human staff clearly can't cope with ordinary problems like when someone breaks an oil bottle in an aisle, or people just steal things. So what's driving this kind of automation where business's actually pay money to lose capacity, what's the moving part i don't see here?

And the app. What is it? It's a program, that runs on a remote server, so like if MySpace gave people only access to their own home page, and nobody could connect directly to one another, and had no local services.... why would anyone want an app? Data hosting might be cheaper in India or China but a server stack is a server stack, and why wouldn't counties just that's that as a form of tax evasion?

I have a weird question.
So I have a fan. Like, a normal cooling fan. It normally runs pretty quiet but I have it hooked up to a battery so if the power goes out, auxiliary power kicks on for a few hours.

How come? I don't think I can do anything to fix it, but I wonder if it means anything.
