My DDR4 RAM will not boot past 2400MHz in gear 1. 2400MHz runs completely stable, can play games, run benchmarks, no crashes or anything. I bump it to 2500 and it won't boot. I've heard gear 2 is required for super high clocks but this should be nowhere near it right? I should at least be able to run the 3500 XMP profile in gear 1 but nope.I've bumped all the necessary voltages and loosened the timings but no matter how much voltage I give or how loose I make the timings it just WILL NOT boot up at 2500MHz or above.Intel 11700k, gigabye z590 aorus elite, GSkill B-die ram (dual rank) 4x8GB.Maybe because it's dual rank with 4 sticks it's harder on the IMC? But why the hard limit at 2500? Seems like it just has a hardcoded limit rather than instability from the OC itself. Even though it's technically not even a fucking OC at this point I'm just trying to run the fucking memory at the advertised speeds.

>>109066397put them on slot 2 and 4, enable xmp profile on bios, make sure your ram supports it, profit.>I MUST OVERCOOCK MY REEMyou are asking for help in the mighty 4cuck honey pot just leave it as it is
>>109066771what are you talking about retard
>>109066813it's a 4x8 kit and xmp doesn't boot in gear 1 did you even read the op or are you just a drooling retard too
>>109066397You have to manually shift into gear 2 to achieve higher speeds.First you let go of the "gas" (turn off power to pc), then hit the clutch to disengage the ram from the mobo. When all that is done you shift it into the next gear (gear 2).Slowly let go of the clutch while giving a little gas (rapidly switch on and off the powerswitch while inserting the ramsticks).Step ?) PROFITS?!?!!
>>109066397DDR4 3000, came as 2x2 packs. If I mix the two packs together on the same channel despite being the same brand and spec the system is unstable.Check to see if the lots are mixed up if you are using more than 2 sticks.
>>109066397Don't overclock, it's not worth the headaches. Turbo-boosting and aggressive binning brutally murdered armchair overclocking. JEDEC-spec speeds are fast enough for the vast majority of use cases on all platforms.
>>109066397i would blame gigabyte lmao they couldn't boot past 3600 on Z690 either
OP here curiously enough I set the reference clock to 133MHz instead of 100 and now i'm able to go all the way up to 3466MHz even with tight timings. But 3600 will not boot no matter how much i play with VCCSA, VCCIO2, or dram voltage, or even loosening the timings, it just refuses to boot past 3466. Completely stable AT 3466, but unbootable at the next option which is 3600. Weird.Anyone know what might be the wall here? These intel 11th gen sure are fucking weird.
>>109068382>Anyone know what might be the wall here?Using more than two DIMMs or populating different channels with the two, a really bad CPU bin (memory controller), poor mobo design or quality, bad PSU or anything related to power, a component causing interference, etc.
