>completely free on linux
what's the catch? is it the best chromium browser out there?
>>
>>109067706
Brave is so fucking shady with the shit they pull sometimes. Probably the only browser where I wouldn't be surprised if it's running a very low powered crypto miner on everyone's machines
>>
>>109067706
What is the "origin" part? I just use brave browser.

>what's the catch?
It's brave
>>
>we made it free on Linux because you guys already have debloating scripts so we wouldn't get away with chargnig :(
>but you can pay only 60 USD for it on other systems! to get Chromium!
Genuinely why the fuck would I ever do that instead of just installing any other Chromium browser for free?
>>
>>109067784
built in adblocker that isn't affected by the manifest changes like ublock is, so you don't need to switch to firefox.

No flatpak.

And? How is that hurting you?
>>
>>109067792
Doesn't ungoogled chromium support ubo with MV2?
Same with helium browser.
>>
>>109067792
except their adblocker is dogshit and lacks half the options ublock does.
>>
>>109067706
Is the an alternative?
Its seems like we are stack with chrome bullshit.
>>
>>109067792
Using the outdated and now unsupported extension manifest poses an obvious security risk for pretty much nothing in return. uBlock Lite works just as well as Origin. Or just use an adblocking DNS.

It includes a VR game where you get to experience Brendan Eich's life from his womb-emergence all the way through his ousting at Mozilla. It's worth the $60 IMHO.

heh nothing personal, gender-neutral pronoun
>>
>>109067919
ok but Brave doesn't do that though. Retard. It's a browser component. Now merged into Firefox and Ladybird, Safari and Chromium soon.

Youre free to use chrome or edge or whatever normies use

Ungoogled Chromium is, at least as long as it still supports uBlock Origin anyway.

>>109067919
>Or just use an adblocking DNS.
Only good for domain-level blocking, for things that need more fine-tuned control (YouTube) you need advanced filtering.
>>
>>109070495
Your mom is open source too. Shit is CASH

that's like four weeks

there are two version of origin. you are using the worse one that only disables features. the better version has those features stripped out from its binary.

so who will take the crown once it stopped supporting UBO?
