Anyone feel that the internet is complete shit now?Like no fun allowed, propaganda at every turn, trying to doxx everyone at every step on every site and normies eat it up with no concern for their own privacy. For example:Youtube is complete propaganda. The comment section is full of bots, anything you say that goes against the narrative is deleted by AI, you get shadow banned, let alone no dislikes.Reddit...of course, pure propaganda. Ironic that they say shit like "we are inclusive" but inclusive of everyone except (if your views go against the narrative)IMDB wants you to sign up (doxx yourself, amazon account) to even look at the reviews.IMDB/RT full of bots and even social justice spammers (like making the marvel movie black panther the best movie ever made after BLM shit)4chan...lefty/pol/ vs /pol/ cancer, bots, shills, discord trannies campaigns, tranny spam etc...list goes on.fagbook...must doxx yourself to use it, propaganda, banned for views against the narrative.this extends to all social media I guess but I "assume" that shitter at least allows you to have opinions.Wikipeadia. Full on propaganda, most shit is made by certain individuals with agenda. They even lock pages so people cannot contribute (correct propaganda)Post any other examples. there are countless.Point is, it used to be a place for nerds, sharing of information, sharing of opinions and the youth to shitpost. Sure the youth grew up, but we still want to shitpost for the lulz, but its all anti fun, propaganda and just general faggotry now.Other than chan sites or the darknet equivalent I dont even know of any websites i can shitpost any more. And that is not even including shit like online safety shit etc. Here is another kicker. We used to have pop up cancer everywhere. So people created ad blocks. Now you have pop ups on every website to tell you about cookies, like everyone lost intelligence to not know how internet sites work.rant over. discussion.
First of all, don't mistake the internet for the web.
When Google bought YouTube, I never in my right mind imagined it would be used to extort money out of people. That's because Google stood for the complete opposite of what it is now.I blame smartphones for normalizing this kind of culture. A device with a camera, a mic and GPS, that's connected to your phone number? Surely that will not be used for any nefarious purposes? Surely big corporations would never breach their users' trust?
>Here is another kicker. We used to have pop up cancer everywhere. So people created ad blocks.Ironically Google had a tool called Google toolbar that would block popups for you. Now they do the opposite.
>OP has never tried xitter where retard grok is the #1 shitposter
>>109068624>IMDB wants you to sign up (doxx yourself, amazon account) to even look at the reviewsI really don't understand this.>to protect from muh botsLike every other website you will jump through 20 hoops to do anything but the bots will have free reign.
>>109069848The early 2000s internet was really bad. Not as bad as today, but ads were obnoxious. Popups, popunders, flash minigames in banners, etc. Google's adsense, on the other hand, featured polite unobtrusive text-only ads that didn't drive people crazy.
