I think it has great merit but because the amount of physical applications you need to absolutely ensure half-duplex or simplex transmission is so low, most devices just use USB-A.

And it's also a toss up whichever one of these does the cable support. Good luck finding something fully compatible!We basically went back to 200-fucking-4 when a motherboard may have had 6 USB ports on the back and 4 more provided via front panel, but if you were lucky then 2 of those were USB2 and the rest were something like the speed of a floppy disk. And then you wondered why your external drive sometimes ran at a snails speed.
